“Um…” She stuttered.

“You were so beautiful! Why would you do this to yourself!?” Her father exclaimed, somewhat angrily.

“I don’t know…” Lani sighed, looking down at her sheet covered body.

“Give me a minute to shower and then we can talk, okay?”

“The place looks lovely by the way.” Her mother said, looking around the room.

“Thanks mum.”

She walked through to her ensuite and undressed, turning the shower on and stepping into the warm water. It only took her five minutes to shower and dress before walking out to the kitchen where her parents had made themselves tea.

“Feel free to make yourself at home.” Lani said sarcastically.

“Honey, what’s going on? We pop in to say hi and you’re covered in tattoos, your apartment is spotless and by the looks of the pictures in the bin, you’re single.” Her mum said.

“I honestly have no idea mum.”

--12 hours later--

Her parents had stayed for another two hours after they had woken her, but were now long gone and Lani was lounging on her couch when suddenly, she felt the tired feeling pulling her back towards a dream. She went willingly this time and was not as surprised to see Missalea standing in front of her, that same handsome grin stretched across his dark blue face.

“Took your time, didn’t you?” Lani said, slightly frustrated.

“Sorry Lani, I was busy.”

“Okay. I would really appreciate some answers now.” Her temper was quickly raising its ugly head.

“Ask whatever you want. I’ll answer to the best of my ability.” Missalea replied, somewhat amused.

“Who are you and why are you in my head?” Lani demanded.

“I’ve told you, my name is Missalea-“ He started.

“I don’t want your name, I want to know who you are. Why are you here?” She replied angrily.

“I’m a Dreamer. And I’m in your head because it is my job to be. I’m here to keep you safe Lani.”
