Lani now lived in fear. She could barely manage to go to work without jumping at every shadow that moved. It made no sense of course, the Nocturne couldn't get to her during the day and Missalea now visited almost every night, but it still worried her.
Missalea's visits mainly involved going to England, talking, dancing and flying. It was really lovely and she enjoyed her dreams more than real life. But she always had to wake up, and Missalea wasn't in the real world.
It was terrible, and she didn't know what to do between dreams.
She wished that Missalea could be a solid being in her world.
It was night time once again and Lani was awaiting the feeling that would tell her that Missalea was pulling her to him. They were quite acquainted now and enjoyed each others company immensly.
She waited... and waited...
It had alrready reached midnight and she wasn't tired at all.
What if something's happened... Lani thought to herself.
And then it appeared.
The beast was back in her room, pacing near her walls and growling ferociuously at her.
Lani froze. Where was Missalea?
The beast growled at her again, walking stealthily towards her bed and standing over her.
Lani quivered with fear, holding in her screams, starting to hyperventilate.
It roared and she cried out in fear, closing her eyes tightly and then the feeling came and she was sucked into a dream just as the beast had opened its jaws to her.
"Lani! Oh Lord, are you okay?! I'm so sorry!" Missalea exclaimed loudly, pulling her into a rough hug.
"Where were you!?" Lani cried.
"Darling, I'm so sorry. They created a distraction, we thoguht others were in danger severely and put all of our efforts into that area of the world. But it was fake, we didn't realise... I'm so sorry sweetheart." He explained rushedly.
Lani fell to the ground in a state of shock. She had very nearly died just then.
Missalea joined her on the ground, wrapping his warm arms around her.
"I'm so sorry, I never should have left you alone." He said softly against her hair.
Lani shook her head, too traumatized to speak. They just sat there, his arms wrapping her in a safe cacoon.
