[In this one-shot, the scenario will be taken in another universe in which Mei is a popular warrior and Yui is an amateur. That's all. Enjoy.]Requested by: TheRealSanora
The sound of swinging and crashing was heard around the Mountain of Ezera. In the Mountain of Ezera, was a swordfighting-warrior contest. A few well-known warriors were there for the contest: Megami Saikou, Osoro Shidesu, Ayano Aishi, and last but not the least, Mei Mo. All 4 warriors would have to pick at least 2 contingents that had the potential to be a warrior.
Mei's dark blue eyes wandered amongst the crowd and stopped when someone caught her eye. That special girl had scarlet eyes and short, scarlet hair that reached her stiff shoulders. She looked like she was having trouble with the sword, but she had an interesting aura around her that made Mei think twice.
As her eyes roamed again, another girl caught her eye. She had short, midnight hair with blood-red eyes. She had no trouble at all! She nailed every move and didn't drop a single sweat. Wow! Mei thought, her eyes widening.
...
...
...
It was at midday and the warriors were now gonna choose. One by one, they chose a contestant that seemed worthy of their attention.
"576 and 1001."
"984, 142."
"Number 892 and Number 605."
Finally, it was Mei's turn. "345 and 230." Mei spoke. Mei saw the redhead's eyes widen as she heard her code number while the raven-haired one still kept her emotionless face.
The chosen contestants proudly went on the stage and spoke a few words.
"Hello, I am Waifu Mai."
"Domo! Watashi wa Hinata Koharu desu!"
"I am Shan Miyuji and I am proud to become my Master's chosen apprentice!"
Each apprentice introduced themselves until it was her turn. The girl's legs trembled as she stood in front of the thousands of people. She gulped. She may be confident but she had one weakness... She had stage fright.
"Umm..." She whispered through the microphone. Megami Saikou and the rest of the masters stared at Mei nastily. Who in the right mind would choose someone like her?
The redhead sweatdropped, before someone came to the rescue.
"Hmmm, 345... Your name is Rio Yui, correct?" The girl named Yui nodded rapidly, flushing furiously. How embarrassing!
Mei smiled as she made eye contact with Yui.
"Next!" Mei stated, sitting back down on her majestic chair. Yui nodded before heading down. That was a nightmare!
The last one arrived, the sociopath. The girl stared at everyone distastefully before speaking on the microphone.
"I am 230, my name shall not be important. Besides," She paused, staring at nothing. Her eyes were dull, like her sanity was drained out. "I will be the best."
Her statement made the area silent. Mei smiled, Perfect confidence for the perfect apprentice!...
...
...
"So, I am certain you all know me." Mei stated. It was almost the end of day and Mei gathered up her two apprentices.
"Of course! You are one of the BEST sword masters in the land!" Yui beamed, she still didn't get over the fact that she was chosen by her. Mei smiled. The raven haired girl just stood there strangely. What's up with her? Yui thought.
"Okay. Tomorrow, we are going to be training somewhere on this area. So I will be expecting you two here at 6:00 AM. Understood?" Mei asked, raising an eyebrow for the suspense look.
"Yes, ma'am!" Yui yelled and 230 just nodded.
...
...
...
Mei stood proudly in front of her students. They were currently training and it was crystal clear that Yui didn't know what she was doing. But 203 nailed it.
"Ummm, Rio... Do you need help?" Mei asked, approaching the girl.
"He-help? Haha... no! Wh-why'd you ask that?" Yui stammered, feeling pressured.
Mei sighed, and decided to help the girl. Slowly, she guided her arms to make the perfect sword swing.
"First, you pose like this." She paused, "Then... swing!" With that, Yui made her first, perfect swing.
"Woahhhhh!" Yui's jaw dropped. Mei smiled, what a girl.
Word Count: 686 words.
[This is a two-shot, since I ran out of ideas and decided to make a part 2! See ya in the 2nd one!]
