Chapter 5

Iris's pov

I tap my fingers to the tune of the radio , gazing out the window at the blurry scenery of trees and houses . Suddenly the gentle thump of the road turned into a vibrating Hell , I realize we had pulled into justyce's street that has gravel road  and began to pull  into her driveway . I see her waiting outside on her phone . I open the door and yell "Justyce , Get off the phone we are here ! " I said in a song song voice . " I'm coming ! Sorry " she said running up to the car . She opens the door   And jumps in throwing her backpack into the seat next to her . "Hi! " she says and buckles her seat belt ( be safe kids ) . " are you hyped for the first day ?! " I say a little to loudly .  " OMG iris have you seen the news !" . I reply " is Beyoncé having another kid or something " I say sarcastically " iris a corpse was found only about 50 feet away from our school " . I run my hand down my arm and all the memories flood my brain from only 2 years ago in 7th grade , the scar making my hand slightly move up and down in sync  with the pattern of the scar . I look back at justyce " oh shit " .  The rest of the car ride to Keira's house is normal  ,  talking about the latest trends , ranting about a raciest song even doing a music.ily . We pull into the parking lot of Keira's apartment . "Hey girls go run and get keira and hurry quick!" My mother says . We jump out of the car and sprint to Keira's door . " hey guys ! " she chirps , " hi " we say in unison . " one sec " she says and opens her door and sticks her head in the door . " MOM IM LEAVING LOVE YOU !" she yells and we hear a muffled reply . " okey dokey avocado " "keira its Artichokey not avocado " justyce corrected . We walk back to the car and let keira go in first since she had her service dog with her , then justyce , then me . Keira  buckled up and rolled down her window and Dakurii ( btw it's pronounced Dawk-oo-rye ) stuck his head out of the window . We talked about random stuff like how majestic chickens are and such to the short ride to Adelyn's house . "Honestly I think chickens are more majestic dolphins " keira said " Nuh Uh Dolphins are beautiful!" Justyce argued , soon we pulled up into Adelyn's house and since we have such a big car she saw us and ran to the car . " hi!" Keira chirped , she buckled her seat belt and we drove of into the distance. " so.. did you guys see the news " justyce broke the silence , "yeah" Adelyn and keira said in unison . " I hope it's just a quintessence and not what I think it is " keira mumbled her hand slightly stroking the bandage covering her eye . " yeah " adelyn said who was rubbing the scar on the back of her neck . " say what now?" My mom says " nothing ! " I say quickly " just a guy in a uhhhhh anime is uhhhhh gonna die yeah that's right " . " oh... okey donkey  " my mom chirps . We spend the rest of the ride in silence . Listening to  106.1 in the radio . Then the song "Sorry" by Justin beiber came on , " OOOOOOOH IS IT TO LATE NOW TO DAY SORRY " keira sarcastically screams to the music . The rest of the car ride is us screaming to the music . Soon we pull into a parking lot and stop , we all get out and look up at the big sign on the front of the school that says ' Phoenix Drop High welcomes all students ' I hear a someone gulp behind me . " Come on ! We will be late for class" justyce says grabbing adelyn and my hand and pulls us along as keira runs behind us . Today may not be that bad .
