Chapter 16

The bug part I

Justyces pov

I wake up to the sun shining in my eyes. My stuff body soon unfurls and I throw the covers aside.
Today we leave to go to the Kings kingdom and to be honest I am the opposite of exited. I am terrified of this King Tee and his servants, we have only had our powers for a few days and they expect us to to show it to them. It doesn't seem right.

I stand up and stretch my legs and begin to undress from my sleeping robe. I see motion out of the corner of my eye and whip around, nothing is there. I peek out the window and see a deer, it's black eyes watch me. I wave at it and it runs off into the distance.

I continue to undress and I slip on a button up blouse and some dressy pants. I grab some socks and some boots and slip them onto my small, tan, feet. I grab my brief case full of clothes and maybe a knife, just maybe, and carry it out to the living room where I meet Uillinn and keira out in the living room and Munching on some toast. There is an assortment of bags scattered around the apartment. I snatch a price of toast from Keira's plate and smother it in butter and begin eating. Uillinn is in extremely formal attire which is a bit strange because there is a good chance we won't arrive at the kingdom today.

"Now girls, I expect you all to be on your best behavior through out this trip, so I require you to polite, posh, and perfect!" Uillinn says in a rather demanding tone.

"We will try our best. We did only arrive here a few days ago and we have never been in any presence of royalty before," keira said.

"Your 'best' isn't acceptable young lady! You must be perfect!" Uillinn said, straightening her posture.

"What's the deal with this guy anyway? Why do you value him so much? I'm sure he is a chill guy, right?" I said sitting up and looking at Uillinn.

"You will learn that in time,".

Suddenly a shrill Shriek Echoed through the small yet large house. Keira and I shot up and ran to the noise while Uillinn watched. Keira burst open. The door of Adelyn room , the wood creaked loudly as we ran in. There sat Adelyn curled up on her bed frame, the curtains in her room swirled, so did the blankets. There was a large red bug resisting the wind and it went around her head in circles. The bug was roughly the size of a hand and had dark red coloring, it looked like a beetle. The coloring on it was almost like oil, changing colors in each direction, most of the time it was red but other times it was blue and purple. Uillinn ran into the room and grabbed the beast, it struggled but Uillinn grabbed it and invaded it in a bubble that magically sprouted from her finger tips. It sprayed some sort of venom all over Adelyn before being put into a controlled coma. Iris walked in and immediately rushed next to Adelyn along with the rest of us.

"It came out of no where, and started attacking me! I just got so scared and the room started to become more and more windy, I didn't know what to do!" Adelyn stuttered out.

A sizzling sound erupted from where the bile got sprayed on her and she began to loose consciousness.

"Quick bring her to the library!" Uillinn demanded.

Keira picked Adelyn up bridal style and iris added extra support. I felt like I needed to be helping and stay out of the way at the same time. I ran after Uillinn and enters the library, the others close behind me.

"Justyce grab Prodigy number six and the Bug Files!" Uillinn said pointing to opposite sides of the room.

Keira and iris burst in holding a unconscious Adelyn and lay her on a table. Uillinn immediately rushes over to Adelyns effected area. Her skin is turning black and crumbling away piece by piece.

"Iris, get a pale of water! Keira, get an Aloe Vera plant, a Ginger root, and some mint from my garden! Justyce get those books and start looking for the bugs information! Move people!" Uillinn says as we as dispersed.

I look in to the large dusty books, each page fluttering by as I flip through the book. At the Very and of The Bug files there was a written passage describing the beast. I began to read out loud.

"This bug is sent from the depths of hell to torment innocent souls, it is often sent from a demon to delay any significant event from happening. This beetle like creature can spit a venom that works very similarly to everyday acid. If the acid reaches the veins the infected being could become very ill with a extreme fever, vomiting, headaches, fainting, and bleeding from the mouth. If not treated the infected could gain other illnesses due to vulnerability and death is possible, though death is very rare in this case. To treat this you need to-. The ink, the ink is smudged! I can't read it!" I exclaim.

The others come in and set the contents down to the table. Uillinn takes a cloth and dips it in the water and wraps is around Adelyns waste. Uillinn grabs a small knife and makes and incision in Adelyns wrist.

"Iris, put the water into her veins. It will help dilute the bile and lower her temperature," Uillinn instructed.

"How are we going to cure her if we don't know the actual cure?" I ask, trying to decipher the ink.

"Well, the quickest and smartest way is to flush out the poison," Uillinn says inspecting the wounds.

A thin stream of water lifts from the bucket and enters Adelyns wrist. Iris had a strained expression on her face, her closed eyes squeezed shut.

"Keira I need you to grow the aloe and the mint, hand Justyce the ginger. Justyce roast the ginger until it becomes ash," Uillinn said. I grabbed the large ginger root and held it between my palms. I could feel my hands heat up, they turned red like the burners on a stove. A small flame began to burn on my index finger, soon the flame was covering my hands. The ginger blackened and fell into a pile of dust in front of me. Uillinn handed me a bowl and I put the ginger in the wooden capsule. Keira grabbed the Aloe and mint and tore them out of their pots and put the frail plants and their roots in their pots. She began to breathe slowly and the plants began to grow. The mint plants bloomed all over every surface of one of her hands. The aloe grew about the size of her arm before Uillinn stopped her. Keira put the plants back into the pots the best she could.  Uillinn began to break pieces of  aloe and rubbed them on Adelyns wounds. Uillinn took some pieces of mint and ginger and mixed it with the water that was
Still being sent to Adelyns veins.

"That should help cleanse her body, flushing out the poison and replacing it with herbs. She will be unconscious for a little while longer but she should be alright, I think," Uillinn said dusting off her fingertips.

I grabbed the book, on the way to put it away. I noticed something on the page.

Ombrego.

The cure, it's Ombrego blood.
