Oak

Dragonfly was released the afternoon after he woke up. I wasn't there, though. I was wandering about the kingdom, pondering the guy's motives. I just didn't get him. Why was he sparing everyone? He doesn't have any reason to. And yet, once I had a reason, Leaf happened. That little psychopath....

That's not very nice. Hey, you really should take that trident and kill everyone in the square.

"Shut up!" I shouted. People in the plaza turned to stare.

Whoops~!

I sighed and clutched my arms to my chest. "It's nothing." I said to appease the nervous crowd. It seemed to work, as the crowd slowly dispersed. I turned right down one street, left down another. I had been looking down at the ground when suddenly I ran into someone.

"Hey, watch where you're goin'!" I heard my newest problem exclaim.

"Sorry, man. I just--"

"You'd better watch yourself!"

"I don't want any trouble..." I raised my hands in surrender.

"Yeah, of course you don't, but you got it anyway!" The young man punched me to the ground. I got up and used my trident to deal with the pesky idiot.

You burn with passion, don't you, Oakey~? Ya know, if you gave me your body, I could incinerate this guy.

     Not interested.

     Awww, you're no fun!

Could you please shut up? I'm trying to concentrate.

     Hey, it's your funeral. Hehehe~.

I had been so concentrated on Leaf's shenanigans, I hadn't been able to block this guy's attacks. Blood dripped from all over my body. With one attack, I drove the guy into the dirt. However, I had sustained heavy damage and almost collapsed. I would've, were it not for them.

"Oh my..." A female voice sounded behind me and supported my aching body. "Brontë, Hope, over here!"

"Woah...!" A young girl gasped.

"Woah is right! I thought you were just hearing crazy ninja stuff again!" A deep, brawny voice bounced off the walls of the alley. "Hmm. Nice job beating this guy up, punk. We've been chasin' him all day!" A huge hand pressed into my skull and shook my hair. I whimpered like a girl.

Wow. You really sound pathetic.

And whose fault is that?

...sorry. Hey, I heard women make a cool popping sound when you mutilate them with a trident. Wanna find out?

Couldn't if I wanted to. We're really banged up, remember?

Oh yeah. Darn.

"Let us bring them both back to the station. We can heal this one." The calm voice said. I groaned again in pain as the woman shifted her weight.
