Your soul is made of

stars.

I can see it in your eyes. / If I meet your gaze, even

for a second,

rose-quartz pulls me in.

There, galaxies and pointillism nebulae are spiraling in orbit

around each other. / Ideas the size of supernovas exploding within your

skull,

until every planet is surrounded with

broken-inside comets.

When your upset, / thunderclouds roll behind your brows

And a downpour, / set to a

cacophony of violins,

erupts behind your ears.

It's the storm of the century, with

fight-me lightning scattering out of your words.

But when you smile,

sunshine streams through your skin. / Bathing my

bitten lips in golden light.

Your heart is full of

sea.

Coral climbing through your ventricles and

sharks slowly shifting down your arteries / look-down-here trenches

seething  with intrigue.

Waves crashing against your lungs,

spilling.

Salt and barnacles crusted on the inside of your ribs / Its overflowing,

your heart is /

Some say you should build stronger beaches

And keep the oceans where they belong.

How could they say that

About a sea as

beautiful as yours?

Your body is brushed with earth

Roots intertwined down your arms to the tips of your fingers

I can feel the twigs scratching against the surface of my skin.

Flowers spilling out of your lips.

Blossoms of poetry ripe for the picking

Vines grounding your feet

So you don't run away from your body

Skipping rocks along the horizon

And ascending to the sun

Where you belong

Between your head and heart and hands,

You possess the whole universe.

Sky and sea and earth

Trapped.

Maybe you don't see it

Your vision is clouded

But if you didn't have the stars spinning in your mind

And the ocean locked behind your ribcage

And a planet bursting through your fingertips

Then why do I look at you

And see

Everything
