Sebastian looks at all of them with a mixture of anger, confusion and fear in his eyes. "Guys, should I be worried??"
I love dancing and am having so much fun out here with my friends. But I really wish Sebastian was out here with me. My eyes start looking around for him as the music shifts from a fast song to a slow one. Hunter grabs my hand and attempts to pull me towards him. At that moment I find Sebastian in the crowd talking to Thad, Nicky, Jeff and Blainey, and he is looking a little upset. I shake Hunter's hand off mine and give a small shake of my head.
He whispers to me in a pleading voice. "Come on Angel.... Dance with me. Please..." I turn back slightly and he is giving me his puppy dog eyes. I shake my head and attempt to walk away. "I can't. I'm sorry. I just can't." He follows after me, touching my arm to stop me. "Why not? I thought we were having fun." I give a large sigh, glancing over my shoulder at Sebastian again. He just looks so broken right now, I have to go to him. I'm biting my lip when I turn back to Hunter. "Hunt, I can't. Sebby so looks upset. I need to see if he's okay." He rolls his eyes but removes his hand from my arm, "You're still picking him over me? After everything?" I'm floored. "I thought we discussed this before. Friends. Or THIS will end. He's my fiancé. I'm sorry, but I have to go."
I start to leave his side, trying to push through people but the dance floor is crowded. Hunter calls after me, "Shann, wait!!" I stop to look back at him and he is pleading with me, moss green eyes looking at me so desperate as he mouths out please... I give a resolute shake of my head and spin around determined to check if Sebastian is okay.
I'm almost to him, eyes only focused on my end target when someone steps out in front of me and grabs me by the wrists. I come face to face with Trent, a frown on his normally cheerful face. "Ms Anderson, what do you think you are doing?" I blink a few times, I'm not used to seeing Trent look so stern. He's usually a shining ball of sunshine. "What are you talking about? I'm going to see Sebastian." He shakes his head at me and repeats his question again, "No. What do you think you are doing? What are you and Hunter doing? I know you're hiding something because your friends kept calling him James. And a few weeks ago you guys were super pissed at him. Remember?"
I run my hand nervously through my hair, glancing over my shoulder to see Hunter looking at me curiously from afar. I take a deep breath as I turn back to Trent. "We have a mutually agreed upon friendship." He crosses his arms over his chest and just glares at me. "Honey, I saw those looks you two were sharing out there. They were a bit TOO friendly if you ask me. And why the alias for your friends. James? Really?" I give off a nervous giggle. "I didn't think that was very original either but he said it's his middle name. And safer for both of us around my friends."
Trent's eyes go wide and he pulls me out of the crowd, into a quiet corner. I was hoping to make this quick because I really wanted to get over to Sebastian but it looks like it may take a little longer than anticipated. He lowers his voice, looking around to make sure no one can hear us, "I swear if you're cheating on Sebastian I will murder you..." I gasp at his aggressive tone as he continues with his inquiries. "How often do you two talk? You better not be hooking up with him. Does Bas know about this at all? Because Clarington has been practically giving you googly eyes since the competition earlier."
I roll my eyes at that, "He really needs to learn to control that if he values his life. You would think that the military academy would have taught him self preservation skills. But to answer your questions, we talk more often than we should and meet up at least once a week. Usually just Sunday's from 9:30 to about noon. Sometimes more often. And Sebastian is quite aware."
Trent just stares at me in open shock. "If Sebastian knows all of this how is he still able to walk. He's basically openly flirting with you in front of your fiancé!" I sigh, trying to look for Sebastian again, thankfully he is still where he was before. "Seb had an extensive talk with him. Plus if Hunter couldn't walk it would be bad for me, and Sebby always wants me to be happy." Trent throws his hands up in frustration, "I'm so confused now..."
I place a hand on his arm to calm him down, "It's not really that confusing. Hunter is my ballroom dance partner. So hurting him would hurt me. And it's kind of a good thing for our pairing that we're friendly with each other, good chemistry makes for good dancing." Trent just rubs his hands across his eyes looking tired, "I'm still really confused...."
I shrug and start to move away from him, heading back towards Sebastian again. "Honestly Trent, I am too..."
The boys are still deep into their conversations when I am finally close enough, no one really noticing my presence at all. It does help that I'm short as well.
"Guys, she assured me that it's just dancing. And I trust her..."
"Bas, I know you've got it bad. And you love her. But that looked like much more than just dancing."
"Thad, I know my cousin. She loves Sebastian so much. I've seen her broken. He makes her whole. I don't think she'd do anything to jeopardize that."
Oh my god.... They were watching me. They were watching me with Hunter. I can't do this. I quickly pull out my phone and think for a while before I send out my message. I hope he understands.
To HC🔥: I think it would be the best if we put a stop to all of this. No more text or phone flirting from you. No more clandestine meetings. Absolutely NO MORE kissing. Just dancing, just class. That's it. This is getting really screwed up really fast. And it can't end well for any of us. If you don't comply, I will contact Madam Margaurite and request a partner transfer. I'm cancelling class for tomorrow as well, I need to spend time with Sebastian. And yes, I'm choosing him over you. I'll ALWAYS choose him over you.
I put my phone back in my purse, determined to ignore it for the rest of the night and decide to make my presence known.
Softly I breathe out, with the perfect French pronunciation, "Sebastian..."
He spins around, eyes wide, mouth open, reaching out to grab my hand. "Princess??"
I nod my head at him, smiling shyly as he pulls me towards him and the other four boys back away. "Sebastian, I missed you.... I wanted to dance with my wonderful, sexy, talented and incredibly handsome fiancé. And I want to spend all day tomorrow with you as well." He shakes out of his shock as I lead him towards the dance floor. "But what about your dance lesson?" We stop in the middle of the crowd, a ballad blaring from the sound system and I wrap my arms around his neck, his settling naturally at my waist. I shake my head slightly, "I canceled it."
He moves one of his hands from my waist to brush his thumb gently across my cheek, lowering his voice, "But Shann, I thought you loved that class..."
"Not as much as I love you Bastian. Not as much as I love you..."
