Chapter 19

~Fionna's POV~

Me and Marshall made our way to Bubba's castle. He was in his lab like always and working on his latest experiment.

"Bubba. Do you know what's wrong with Finn??"
He froze and sighed. Then he turned to me and gave me a sympathetic look.

"Fionna, Finn has a illness called Why Wolf disease. It could either kill him or turn him into one of them."
"Why didn't you tell me earlier!?!"
"I wanted to but he wouldn't allow it."

I sighed in frustration.
"Is there a cure?"
"Yes but the journey to collect all the correct ingredients is quite long Fionna. Not to mention, dangerous."

"I'll protect her." Marshall said. I blushed but nodded firmly.
"Right. So where is the ingredients? Do you have a map?"
Gumball nodded. He rummaged through his desk drawer and pulled out the map. He handed it to me.

"Good luck. I hope you make it back save."
"We will. Thanks for you help." I said and hugged him. His body stiffened and he hasitated at first but returned my hug. Marshall picked me up and flew me to my house so I could pack.

I packed my green backpack and Marshall came by later with his own bag, packed and ready to go.  We headed of into the Cave of mirrors first. We need to get through it and retrieve the shards of truth.

We stopped infront of the cave and I put the map away.
"Okay Fi. You ready to do this."
"Well durh. Doesn't seem so bad."

We entered the cave and walked straight ahead.
"See Marshall? Not tha- Marshall??" I turned around and looked for him, but he wasn't there. All I could see was myself. All around me.

"Oh Fionna. Your such a wimp. You really think you can save your brother??" One reflection of me said. I opened my mouth to talk but was interrupted by another.

"So naive. Marshall will never love you. Don't you see?? Your not pretty." "Why would he take you when he could have anybody?" "Nobody needs you!" "Your NOTHING!!" "Your not WORTH remembering!!!"

I closed my ears, trying to ignore their awful statements. They didn't stop though. It was like I was losing my mind. Maybe they're right. I Am A nobody. I sighed and pulled myself together.

I ran at them and shattered some with my sword. The others jumped out of their mirrors and started to attack. I slashed at them but my sword went right through.
"Ugh!" I yelled out in frustration. I started to think. If I can't touch them, then they can't tou- Ow! I punched me! Wait-

Then I heard a shatter and Marshall appeared.

"Fi! You can still kill them by smashing their mirrors!"

Ah-hah! I grinned deviously and slid right past one. I smashed her mirror and she disappeared. 3 more to go. I finished them in no time, with the help of Marshall ofcourse. We exited the cave and on the other side we found a mirror. I walked up to it.

"Hello, great hero of Aaa. I am the mirror of truth. Come forth and I shall reveal your true future."

I  peered into the mirror and saw... Me and Marshall. He was in full demon mode and, attacking me. I was in a wedding dress and looked terrified. He then lunged forward and, killed me. I stepped back being highly annoyed now.

"How dare you! Marshall would never!" I yelled out angrily and punched it. It shattered And I collected the shards. I adjusted my backpack and pulled Marshall by his wrist.
"Come on Marsh. Let's go."
"What did you see. You look pretty upset."
"Nothing major. Just a bunch of lies." I lied.
"Okay."

We walked in silence as we made our way over to the Fire Kingdom.

~Marshall's POV~

I kept thinking about what those stupid mirrors said.

"Your just a bloodthirsty monster." "Why would she pick you when she has Gumball?." "You'll kill her!" "She doesn't love you!"

Hmm. I wouldn't, would I? No. Ofcourse not. She's my best friend.

We approached the Fire Kingdom. Wait doesn't Heath live here?

"MARCHALL!! HELP!!!" That was it! I banged on the door but it was locked. I transformed into my giant bat form and broke the door down. He was all over her, burning her. I threw him off of her and knocked him out. I then looked at her and she was badly burnt.
"Hang in there ok."

Oh no.
"Fi, we should probably turn around."
"Why?"
"Heath lives here."
She gasped. Then face palmed herself. I just smirked.
"Well, how will we get the fire crystals then??"
"I don't know."
Then she snapped her fingers.
"Flambo!"
She said and grabbed my hand again. We stopped right infront of the gate.
She rummaged through her bag. "Flame shield first Marshall." She said and took out some potion. She dropped some on both of us and we went in.
