Chapter 14: Winter Ball

~Fionna's POV~

1 month later...

It's finally the night of the Winter Ball and I don't think I should go. What if Marchall was just making a joke by asking me!?!

"Well then it sure as hell ain't funny."
Cake said.
"Ugh. I've gotta stop doing that!"
"Babycakes, I don't mean to rush you but, we've gotta get you ready otherwise you gonna be late."
"Uhm. Just cancel. Yeah. Tell him I'm sick or something."
"Over my dead body! I've been waiting too long for this moment. Now get up and get in that shower!"

I sighed and did as I was told. When I returned, Cake had 'set up' everything. She placed me on a chair quickly and started on my hair and make-up. The end result was that I didn't wear my bunny hat ( boo-hoo) but my hair was pretty. It was curled and hung loosely over my back and shoulders. My bangs were gorgeous and my lips were red. Nothing too heavy. Then I put on my dress, wich was a red lace mermaid style dress with a sweetheart neckline. It fit me perfectly. I turned to Cake and she just stood there, a warm smile on her face. "So?" I asked her.
"Your beautiful hunny."

I hugged her and we went downstairs where Marchall was fixing his tie. He looked up and our eyes met. He looked good. He had on a dark grey tux with a black shirt and red tie. He looked at me with wide eyes and I blushed. Dammit! Darn dress. I should never ha-
"You look amazing. Red really suits you."
"Oh. Uhm, you too. Thought you weren't into formal."
"Only when I feel like it." He said extending his arm towards me. "Shall we?"
I rolled my eyes but held onto his forearm.
"Auw! You two are so cute! Let me take a pic."
"Uh Cake, no."
"Relax Fi. I gots a special camera. Now, say ADVENTURE TIME!"
"Adventure time!"
"Perfect. Now Marchall, make sure mah baby has a good time. And don't you try anything funny!!"
I blushed. Then he whispered something to Cake and she eyed him. We then got in his car and were off!

~Marchall's POV~

"Believe me kitty. I live with your sister. If I wanted to try something funny, I would have." I smirked. She gave me stinky eye but I didn't think much of it.

When me and Fi arrived it was already pretty hectic. Oh well, guess we're late.

~Fionna's POV~

Wow. It's beautiful. Everything matches the theme perfectly. Even the host! Almost everyone was coupled. I smiled as I admired the hall. Then another couple approached us and my smile faltered. Heath and his date.

"Hi you two. Figured you'd be partners." He said giving me a cold stare.
"Yeah. Clearly she deserved better." Marchall said hugging me to his side. This made Heath glare at him. Then his date spoke up.
"Oh Marchy. So do you. You deserve so much better." She said tugging at his tie and pouting. He tugged his tie back harshly and looked at me, smiling, as if she hadn't said anything at all.
"Wanna dance??"
"S-sure." I stuttered.
We made our way to the dance floor.
"Marchall wait.... I-I can't dance..."
"Then I'll teach you."
He counted as he took his steps and I followed, counting along. Later it became so natural I didn't need to count. It was fun dancing with him.

"So... do you know that girl??"
"Yeah. She's just a girl I used to date."
"Oh. Seems like she still likes you though." I say looking away. Suddenly I felt so... so.... Disappointed?? Jealous?!? Then I felt him grip my chin and pulled my face so it faced him. Then he smiled slightly.
"Well that's too bad, cause I've-"
"May I?" Someone cut him off. The voice souded so familiar. I turned to see... Finn!!!

I hugged him tightly and actually shed a few tears.
"I've missed you sooo much!! What are you doing here!?!"
"Oh, I, uhm... got a few days off of work. Come with me, I braught a surprise."
I looked at Marchall for his approval. He smiled and nodded. I followed Finn outside to find a blue porche with a white ribbon around it.
"What's this??"
"Early Birthday present. Just incase I can't make it cuz of, work."
I looked at him suspiciously.
"Is there something your not telling me??"
He just laughed. "No. Can't I just get you something nice??"
I giggled and hugged him.
"Thanks."
"No prob."

By now Marchall was also outside.
"Hey Marchall. That voice note from a few months ago, not funny man."
Marchall laughed and I blushed at the memory.

Heath's date came back out and Marchall's smile disappeared quickly. He signaled for me to go ahead with Finn and I did.

~Marchall's POV~

"Marchall. I'm really really sorry. I shouldn't have sold something so dear to you. Can't we just work this out??"
"No Ashley. We can't."
"Is it because of her!? Marchall, she's not worth losing our relationship over okay?? We've been through so much. Come out back with me and I'll make it up to you." She whispered in my ear seductively. I pulled away from her and walked off. She tugged me around and pushed her lips to mine harshly. My head started spinning and I could immediately tell that this was not gonna end well....

A/N : hey guys. I know Marchall's POV is really short but I write better in Fionna's POV. Tell me what you think will happen and why you think Finn's acting so suspicious. Sorry for updating so slow.
