Quote of the Chapter:
"Got a secret
Can you keep it?
Swear this one you'll save
Better lock it, in your pocket
Taking this one to the grave
If I show you then I know you
Won't tell what I said
'Cause two can keep a secret
If one of them is dead?"

I entered the large, chipped rectangular building scared as hell.

I mean, wouldn't you be? If you met 3 random people, who were trying to find you, and they tell you all you supposedly remembered about your older brother's death was a myth. How it's a lie?

Would you not be pissing your pants right now?

"Knock, knock," said Pablo opening the door. "Anybody home?"

"Shut up, bitch ass!" I knew that voice. Could it be Derek? It couldn't be?

I thought so until I saw him. My brother came into the living room turning on the TV, while Pablo and Snake Tattoo walked in, Braden pushing me further inside. "Go on slow poke, say hi," he whispered.

"Braden, I don't think I can. Can you drive me home, I'm not comfortable doing this anymore."

Everything was all too much. I thought they bluffed about my brother this whole time. But now, now that I was about to witness my brother for the first time since he "died" I wasn't ready.

"No. Just go say hi, hang out for a little while with Derek and then we'll drive you back. Promise."

"I really don't think that is a good idea," I pleaded to Braden. "What if-"

"Who is doing that girly voice. Pointless, though well done. 7/10."

My brother heard my voice. He doesn't remember it.

Knowing Braden probably wasn't going to drive me home in the next 15 seconds after I would try run, I stepped out of the shadows so Derek could see me and I could see him.

A brother and his sister reunited in the weirdest way possible: Through older guys, who she met and thought was going to kidnap her on a walk home from school.

Most awkward feeling in the world, if you simplified it.

"Hey, Derek. What's up." I can not believe myself.

"Hey . . . baby sis? He turned all the way around to finally see me.

"Wh-, how-, how-, huh?" This made all of the guys chuckle. It was nice to hear my brother laugh again, maybe the last time in a while.

"Would you like to tell me what in the world is going on here Derek? Please? Because one minute you were dead in a coffin, and the next you are playing the TV watching freaking Avatar."

Derek looked around at the guys giving an expression that silently expressed, 'What the fuck did you guys just get me into.'

The other 3 faces displayed a, 'I'm sorry. My bad dude.'

"Ok here's the thing," Derek said reasonably, "You have to SWEAR not to tell any other living soul about this Gabi. I'm serious. Not mom or dad - no matter how much you love them or they love you. This stays between the 5 of us in this room."

"Derek, when have I ever snitched on you before. Have you met me? I'm not the tattletale type."

It's true. I was the one people told their secrets too. Can't recall when I really had a big mouth.

"And why in the world would I tell our parents."

"Good." And the story begins.

"As they probably told you, we are in a gang. Isn't a big one, just the four of us. Me, my man Pablo, Braden and Jack over there."
