As Soon As We Left Off|3rd Person
"Am?" Luke surprised her by glancing her way, his voice gentle.
She clutched a hand over her chest, nodding to show him she was listening. Her vocal cords were seemingly broken for the time being to her.
"Walk over to Jai, slowly." He instructed as Stefan's grip around his throat got tighter. Amelia trembled, her bottom lip popping out slightly as she slowly made her way toward Jai. Who faced her with open arms.
From the corner of his eyes, Stefan watched the girl he'd smelt from continents away step into Jai's arms. A low grunt escaped Luke, drawing his attention back down. But it was limited, he looked back up at the girl and Jai just as soon as he'd glanced down at Luke.
"My first suggestion," Stefan spoke, the smirk he held you could hear through his voice, "is that you step away from the girl Jaidon now." His eyes caught Amelia's, causing her to cower back into Jai's chest.
Before Jai could speak, Luke did. "Jai I swear to god if you let Amelia go I will kill you." Stefan rolled his eyes, twisting Luke's neck ever so slightly, causing Luke to wince.
Daniel glanced at Jai, and Jai nodded. Daniel sped out of the room, disappearing within seconds. Making Amelia suck in a sharp breath. "Relax," he murmured to her, tightening his right arm around her.
She hesitantly nodded, looking away from Stefan's eyes and down at Luke. He wasn't looking at her but she could tell he wanted to. Pain radiated off him, the strain his attacker was putting on him showing.
"I pity you boys. Always making such rash choices." Stefan shook his head, whistling for a few moments. "Sad."
"Why do you want Amelia?" Luke spoke from under him, inhaling sharply.
With that, Stefan stood up, releasing look. He smiled. "A lovely name for such an.. exquisite girl."
With a look of disgust at Stefan, Luke got up, stepping in front of his twin and Amelia. "That's not an answer." He held a matter of fact tone, but his eyes showed curiosity as to Stefan's unannounced visit.
"I could smell her." Stefan stated simply, his eyes trailing from Amelia's head to her toes. He licked his lips slowly, dramatically even. Which caused Luke to clench his jaw and Amelia to turn her face away from him.
Luke rolled his eyes. "Yeah, obviously, you're in the same area as her, and she is human." He grumbled, taking a step toward the red eyed vampire.
A smirk played over Stefan's lips again as he backed away toward the window. Before he jumped out, he looked directly into Luke's eyes. "I could smell her from two continents over Lukas be wise." Then, he was gone.
Everyone in the room, especially Amelia, seemed shocked by his words. Her mind was rushing with thoughts and everything that had just happened seemed to freeze her blood, her heart, her vocal cords most definitely. It was strange. But somehow it seemed to be growing familiar to her.
Shaking her head quickly, she started to focus on Jai and Luke. One of which, Jai, who was now bandaging up any part of her that had even minor scratch. She couldn't pinpoint when they'd gotten her to sit on the sink in the bathroom, but they had.
And they were in a deep conversation. Besides Jai bandaging her, they probably barely acknowledged her presence. "Do you think what he said is true?"
Jai shrugged, "She has a strong scent. But I doubt it could reach over half a continent, let alone two honestly." He seemed to be grumbling over what the red eyed vampire had previously said.
His twin knew exactly why. Because there was a possibility she was his match, although he'd never admit to that possibility, but it meant they'd have to protect her from anything. All Stefan brought was danger, which made matters worse.
Yet, when Luke watched Jai securely place bandages over her new wounds he saw a look of care in his eyes. Of course, Jai already had his match, so that was out of the question. But at least Luke knew he didn't hate her, just in case.
"God damnit what have you gotten us into Luke?" Beau asked stepping in the room. His eyes trailing over Jai and Amelia then Luke. "But I did ask around, as you wanted."
Curiosity gleamed over everyone else, besides Beau, in the room as all eyes fell on him. "And?" Jai encouraged him to continue, finishing the last strap of bandage.
Luke glanced at Amelia before setting his eyes on Beau again, worry overflowing his subconscious. "People can definitely smell her from far off, lots were talking about a new scent. A few even traced it back close enough to here. Luckily enough us five can mask most of her so they couldn't pinpoint her exact location."
Luke breathed a sigh of relief. But it came too soon. "Yet."
His eyes shot to Beau once again. "What do you mean yet?"
With a grunt, Jai slammed a hand on Luke's shoulder, pushing him towards Amelia. "It means they're planning something. Someone has to want her badly to start this kind of thing-" Jai was stopped as Beau took over.
"It hasn't happened in a long, long time." He nodded, along with Jai as Luke looked at Amelia. He could see the fear radiating off of her and it seemed to course some sort of anger throughout him.
"Since mum." He whispered, his fists and jaw clenching. Amelia took notice of this, and without warning or care, pulling Luke into her, wounding her arms tightly around his neck.
Beau's eyes widened and he stepped out of the room, giving them a childish salute while doing so. Jai stood there, whistling a low tune. After a few moments, Luke pulled back from her.
His eyes searched hers, looking for anything. But he couldn't read her. He couldn't see a flicker of any emotion or thought besides fear. "I won't let this happen again," he murmured, placing either of his hands on each side of her legs.
"I know Luke," his brother answered, nodding. Amelia gulped. Both Luke and Jai were shocked she hadn't said anything. Especially since she'd embraced Luke and he was looking right at her cornering her in.
Finally, she did. "Can I.. I trust you?" Her voice was quiet, with a fearful edge to it.
Without a moment's hesitation Luke answered. "Yes."
