The Next Morning|3rd Person
"Amelia didn't sleep last night," Amelia heard Luke whisper in the kitchen. She was sat at the dining table, poking at some eggs and bacon, "she's shook up Jai, bad. We have to get this taken care of as soon as possible. I won't make her live this way."
But you'd make me live with you, she thought, glancing up at them through the empty spot where the door would be. Apparently, the fight had made a bigger mess than they would like her to believe. She knew better though. She knew better than to open her mouth randomly. She knew better than to ask them questions. She just knew better.
With a sigh, and more whispering around her, she stood up. The chair she was previously sat on sqeaking against the floor. Luke and Jai's heads turned in her direction, confusion on Jai's and an unreadble expression on Luke's.
"I can't eat," she explained, "I'm not hungry."
Luke sighed, turning to face Jai. "Isn't this your area of expertee's?"
Jai rolled his eyes and walked over to Amelia, glancing down at her plate before meeting her eyes. "You haven't eaten anything. I'm not even sure if you touched it." At those words, Luke moved over to them, seemingly cautious.
His eyes landed on the plate before flickering back and forth between Cecelia and it. "He's right. You need to eat. You-" Jai shushed him and he glared at the back of Jai's head, his mouth snapping shut.
"We know you're on edge Amelia, but you still need to eat something. Anything really. We'll get you cake, or ice cream, anything."
Amelia knew what she was thinking wasn't a good idea, but the words flew out of her mouth before she could control them. "How about my old life back?" She snapped and turned away from them, fleading upstairs as Luke called after her.
She was shocked when he didn't use his.. advanced speed to follow after her, decidibly she still went into his room, closing the door behind herself. But, as soon as she did, she'd shrunk down into a heap, sobbing into her arms which rested upon her knees.
The tears flew freely and everything was a blur. She didn't know how long she cried. She did know she wanted to cry more. She wanted everything to be done. She even wanted to be dead. "Amelia?" Luke asked through the door. She knew he must've been there a while, but was greatful that he'd decided to let her have space and breathe.
"I know this is hard. Trust me. You may not believe me, but trust me, I know what this is like." He sighed through the door and Amelia sniffled, silence an eerie feeling between them. "It gets easier." After that she heard footsteps, and the silencing of one boy to another. Well, she at least thought there wasn't another girl here.
But she'd thought wrong. Of course.
"Your name is Amelia, right?" The women's voice was soft, almost angelic really. "I'm going to call you Ammy. But us talking," she could almost picture a random girl motioning between herself and the other, "might need to be done face to face perhaps."
Unlike the guys she'd resently met, this girls voice was American. She could almost swear she'd heard it before. Sometime since she'd come to the house though. Maybe.. maybe one of the other's had been talking in a room with another girl.
"I know what you must be going through," the girl continued, knowingly knowing that Cecelia wasn't about to let anyone in at the moment, "more than any of these fools do." The girl chuckled on the other side.
With a heaved breath, pulling herself up, Amelia turned to the door and pulled it open. The first thing she noticed. A petite girl, crouching down in front of her with her head turned to none other than Jai. When the door opened completely though, the girl jumped up, her soft brown eyes meeting Amelia's instantly.
"Wow, you are pretty," the girl breathed, a smile falling over her lips.
"Who are you?" Amelia couldn't help that her voice cracked, and she saw the girl glance over at Jai again before answering.
"I'm Ariana. I'm Jai's mate." The girl extended a hand, which, like the rest of her, was a perfect tan shade of skin.
Amelia nodded, but didn't bother to meet the girls gaze any longer or shake her hand.
-
Ariana sighed, noticing the girl didn't seem to want to have any contact, skin to skin, with her. She dropped her hand back to her sighed. "I'm human too. If you were wondering." The girls eyes instantly snapped back up to her own and she sent her another small smile.
"But you said you were.." The girl, Amelia she'd learned over the last few days, trailed off in her words, her eyes seemingly drifting off to Jai.
But Ariana just shrugged, stepping inside around Amelia, "Jai would never force me into becoming like him. He wouldn't want to hurt me like that."
Amelia looked at Jai, before turning around to face Ariana, the door snapping shut behind herself. Ariana chuckled. "It's hard at first, I know it definitely is. Luckily enough for me though, I got the other twin. Luke can be hard to handle."
She noticed Amelia's mouth twitch, almost like she was going to argue against her statement but had stopped herself right in time. "So.. what're your questions?" Ariana sat on the end of Luke's bed, thinning her skirt out around her.
-
Amelia glanced between the door and Ariana, but didn't hesitate with the questions that flew from her lips. "I heard you before I swear, how? I haven't seen you until now and I've been here a little while?"
Ariana's answer was simple, short, and coming with her voice and gentleness, sweet. "Phone. Jai called me."
She nodded at Ariana, sitting back down in front of the door. "Why are you here?"
"He called again. And said, and I quote, 'Luke could use your help'," Ariana seemed to think that would make her laugh, because her lips curved up slightly, only for a mere second, before they fell back into a straight line. She sighed quietly, intently.
"Okay.. wait, if Jai called you, that means you weren't stuck here, right?" She arched an eyebrow, to her question, Ariana merely nodded. "He let you go?" Another nod. "How? Why? When? How did he find you? Where did you meet? You don't want to be like them?"
Ariana held her arms up, signalling for her to stop with a slight chuckle. "Calm down! One question at a time, please." She seemed to think for a moment, crossing and uncrossing her legs before she found the right answers.
"I'll start with why, which is just that he trusted that I actually loved him. And I do. With everything I have, my heart, my lungs, my liver, my sould, my everything." She shrugged.
"And how, simple enough, he just helped me pack my stuff and I went back to my normal routine. Of course though, I'd put Jai in it. I told my friends and family about him, well, not what he is exactly, but about him." She shrugged agian but Amelia noticed how her lips tried to curve up, herself stopping them in the process.
"When, about ten months ago. Ohmygod, today's our tenth month anniversary actually! He used this Luke thing as a scam to get me here!" She stood up immediately, before falling back in laughter. Amelia just watched her, letting her have her moment. "I'm so blind.. but.. anyway."
"He found me almost a year ago, we didn't start officially dating I guess until two months later. That's when things just kind of fell into place for us, but I'm not going to go into the sappy details for you." She smiled kindly at Amelia, but she couldn't bother to even try to smile back. "And we met here, of all places, Luke was actually going to have me as a snack. Thank god I met Jai." She breathed a sigh of releif.
"And to answer your last question, as of now, no. I do not want to be like them. Yes, I love Jai. And yes, he is my everything. But maybe someday in the future I'll want to be like them. But, as of now, my decision was no." She shrugged, "Jai understands and he's willing to wait."
"So, now, can I ask you a question?" This time, Ariana raised an eyebrow.
And with a sigh, Amelia nodded. "Go ahead, I guess. It's not like I really have a choice in this entire matter." She mumbled the last bit, but judging by Ariana's deep frown, she knew she'd heard.
But Ariana ignored it, thank god, "Do you want help getting out of here?"
