“C’mon baby, you’ve got this.” I try not to wince under her harsh hold, wanting to be as comforting and supportive as possible. Her loud scream fills my ears, her hand squeezing the feeling out of my hand.

“One more push Taylor; then you’re done.” I know she’s trying as hard as she can. She’s so small and as much as I tried I could not convince her to get a cesarean; she just wanted to deliver naturally. ‘I’m a real woman’ she said, rolling her eyes at my idea.

“You’ve got this.” I nod at her encouragingly, grinning lightly at the one final scream, suddenly waiting for the babies shriek.  I turn my attention to the doctor; noticing worry come over her features.

“What is it? What’s wrong?” I question quickly, my blood running cold.

“She appears to be fine; she may just have some fluid in her lungs. The nurses are going to try and help her out okay?” Several nurses walk quickly out of the room; one of them holding the only good thing I’ve ever helped make in my life. I nod, sighing lightly; turning my attention back to Taylor, her eyes fluttering closed.

“Alright babe, you can sleep. You deserve it.” I lean over and kiss her cheek then settle back into the uncomfortable chair; closing my eyes as well.

“God damn it!” I wake up quickly, panting heavily; my forehead drenched in sweat. I glance over to my alarm clock the green numbers reading three in the morning. I have my first day of work today I can’t get five hours of sleep.

Taylor I love you more than anything but please just let me sleep; please keep this goddamn nightmare out of my head. I can’t take this anymore; getting around five hours of sleep at most every night is making me go absolutely insane. I’m beginning to hear voices; no one will talk to me anymore because I always end up zoning out or complaining about my lack of sleep. I know I’ll never be able to move on but if I don’t start getting more sleep and more time without the thoughts haunting me I will never be anything but a hermit. Please, just; let me sleep. I angrily wipe my forehead, lying back down and squeezing my eyes shut.

I know it’s been a while of me just laying here but I slowly start to drift off; sleep overtaking my system.

“On time. Awesome.” George grins as I walk through the door, instantly handing me my uniform.

“The bathroom’s over there get changed and hurry out.” I nod, jogging over to the closed bathroom; knocking on the door quickly. There’s no response after I wait for a bit and I open up the door, walking in but instantly jumping back.

“Oh my god I’m sorry.” I mutter, looking down; really unsure what to do. I look back up quickly, taking in the uniformed dark haired boy along with the tan girl sitting on the sink. They weren’t doing anything bad; they were making out but I know what happens in dirty restrooms while people are making out.

“Oh its fine.” The tan boy grins, smoothing out his hair. He takes in the uniform in my hands, nodding quickly.

“Oh you’re the new guy! I’m Calum, I work in the back.” He puts out his hand; which I take and shake firmly.

“And this is my girlfriend Bri.” I notice him grinning again as she pecks his cheek quickly. The smile on his face is very genuine; it reminds me a lot of how I was when I was with Taylor.

“Nice to meet you Bri.” I smile, nodding.

“Here we’ll leave you to get changed, good luck today man.” They both leave, closing the door behind them. They both seem really nice; I’m glad that all the people here aren’t as bad as George described yesterday.
