"My dad. He kicked me out after I yelled at him." Blue walked behind me and draped her arms over my shoulders and rested her head in the crook of my neck. "Sorry, sweetheart." She kissed the side of my neck and walked away from me.
Blue was always the flirty, shy, quiet type of friend but I knew she didn't want me as a girlfriend.
She took one of my bags for me and walked to the guest room as I followed her like a dog at her heels.
"I'm glad you said something. You're welcome here anytime, Lapis." I just nodded and smiled weakly, "Thanks, Blue." We placed my things down on the floor and she flopped on the guest bed and patted the spot next to her. "Join me, my fallen soldier." I flopped down next to her.
"So, have you found out anything about Peridot?" I shook my head, "Absolutely nothing." Blue shrugged and played with her bangs that hung in her eyes. "I've heard that she ran away to Canada or Mexico to escape her mom, sister, and her one cousin, Jasper."
"I wouldn't be surprised. She always boasted that she would know how to live off the land."
Blue and I chuckled and giggled together, our reason unclear. We just needed a good laugh. And then we needed a good cry. "I m-miss Yellow... she was my closest sister and Pearl doesn't care about me..."
"I'm so sorry... I miss P-Peridot! I just want her back!"
     "I know you loved her!"
We hugged and wept together. "I hate my dad..." I mumbled. Blue sighed, "I know. I didn't even get to know my dad... wait, hey! I didn't even think, oh my gosh!" She started.
Blue shot up and started pacing. "What is it?" I asked, sitting up and wiping my eyes. "We can ask Yellow. Yellow used to hang out a lot with Peridot; I'm sorry, I didn't even think-"
"Who cares?! We might get a lead to where she is! I'll call Yellow!" I grabbed my phone and dialed Yellow's number.
She answered with a sleepy, "Hello?" I grinned sheepishly. "Hey, Yellow. Have you seen Peridot?" I heard a voice in the background, "Peridot? I know where that runt is."
"Shut up, Jasper!" Yellow yelled and then said, "I'm sorry about that, but uhm... last place I saw her was the arcade."
"She's moved on. She has her own place now."
Yellow groaned but I sighed in relief. "Thanks Yellow, I appreciate it. Bye." And I hung up. Blue was staring at me with curiosity, "So?"
"I heard Jasper say that she bought her own place but Yellow said the last place that she saw her was at the arcade."
"We could ask Jamie. Y'know, the mailman? He knows practically everyone and he knows where they live." I nodded. "We should probably wait till tomorrow if we're going to do this. I need rest and you're going to need it too."
"Thanks, Lapis. I've been up since one this morning..." My phone buzzed. I looked at it and saw that it was an address but I didn't know the number of the person who messaged me. I deleted it. They texted back.
I love you.
Once again, I deleted it. I wasn't going to say I love you too to a stranger. That's just odd. Blue left my room and I blacked out on the bed. That number never texted again.
