Colby pov:

It was 3 days after I had left the guys and I had been staying at my friend Caleb's house, I really couldn't face seeing Alyx.

"Man you know you are welcome here whenever but I think it would do you some good to go and see them" Caleb suggested to me.

"Suppose" I replied.

"They don't even know where you are, come on" He said.

"Yeah, I suppose I should go back home" I told him, I knew it was the right thing to do.

"Good luck man I'm really praying for you" He told me as I walked out of Calebs and started to head back home.

---------------

It was around 2pm and I was home, I stood infront of the main doors to the house and opened them. Straight away I seen Sam walk around the corner and hug me, I wanted to go straight to my room after seeing him so I could be alone for a bit longer.

I walked into my room and sat and talked to myself.
I reminded myself that, that girl is my girlfriend I loved her more than anything in the world and that is the reason I was in this state. I reminded myself that even though she didn't know who I was right now, one day she will remember again. I reminded myself that she needed my help to remember again. I reminded myself that it was my duty to make sure to get my girlfriend back. Because that's the least I could for her.

2 months later:

It had been just over a month since Alyx lost her memory and she got home.

She still didn't remember me.

It has been the toughest but also the strongest time of my life. Everyday I still wake up alone on the sofa and I still look at Alyx as she stares through me impassively but I refused to give up on her.

During this month we have made a couple of new memories and I've accepted that we have to work hard to make her remember me. She had started to remember a few things, she remembered Kat. She remembered Sam. She remembered moving to LA. Yet she doesn't remember her family, she also doesn't remember her life in Scotland. And, she doesn't remember me.

Every single day we tried to do something so we could still be active and getting around doing stuff, we also tried to do things as a group to try and help Alyx with remembering.

"It's a really nice day today Alyx, do you want to go to the beach?" I asked, the guys offered.

"Sure, sounds fun" She replied.

---------------

We went to the beach placing our towels and stuff on the sand before we all went running into the water. I stood and looked at Alyx, she was gorgeous, I just wanted to be close with her again, and for a second there I felt like nothing had ever changed.

"Oh my god" I said turning around out of my day dream to see that Elton had just tipped a bucket of water over my head.

"Come on, day dreamer" Elton teased.

"Oh, it's on" I said declaring war with Elton as I chased him along the beach with a bucket of water for revenge.

I turned my head stopping running to see Alyx laughing and messing about with Sam and Kat. Why couldn't she remember me? Why them? I wished she could have remembered me first because it would have been a lot easier because now she hangs a lot with Sam and Kat.

Again I felt a downfall of water over my head but this time I turned to my left to see Corey and Devyn standing there.

"Okay, 3 against 1 isn't fair" I said as Elton, Corey and Devyn laughed.

We spent a lot of the day between us all messing about and sun bathing. I think I got burned more than anything, well Sam's sunburn was worse than mine, always is.

I handed Alyx my backpack for her to grab her clothes out from it.

"Sorry" she apologised leaning down to the ground to pick up everything she had dropped out of my bag.

"Don't worry about it" i leant down helping her pick it up.

She went quiet as she locked eyes with my wallet that was laying open and face up.

"What?" I asked as her face was confusing.

"That picture" She said as she staring it, as her eyes watered up slightly and she refused to take her eyes off the picture.

"Show..show me more pictures from that day" she said refusing to take her eyes off the picture.

She was staring at the picture of me and her that I had stuck in my wallet. It was a picture from the important day we went to the links market (read chapter 9 to understand the importance of this day), it was a pretty memorable day. She looked like she was trying to hold onto a memory before it slipped from her mind.
I grabbed my phone and rushed to the photos from that day, I showed her specifically pictures from the view from above the big ride we went on (you NEED to have read chapter 9 to understand what they are talking about).

"That's all the pictur-" I tried to tell her.

"Shh" She quietened as she held her eyes shut tightly.

She opened her eyes and stood up, I stood up also, she looked at me straight in the eyes. I felt as if I was looking at the old Alyx, i felt as if she had her personality back and she wasn't looking at me impassively anymore.

"Colby." She cried as she threw her arms around me squeezing me.

I quickly realised what was happening.

"Alyx?" I asked as I sobbed and pulled away from her hug.

Alyx stood in front of me and nodded her head. I quickly crashed my lips against hers, that was a feeling that I have craved and longed for so much. I returned to our hug and I didn't ever ever want to let go.
