Something Worth Fighting For-Chapter 13
I woke the next morning ready for the day's events. After a quick shower, I slipped on some black shorts, a gray, tank and some white tennis shoes. It was just turning 8am when I walked into the main lobby or NAA. Before I came to the building, I had gone to see if Amir was awake. But when I climbed through his window (I had the chance to scale the building so I took it!) he wasn't there. Zolisk was talking to an Agent when I walked up to him.
"Hey, Zolisk," I greeted once he was finished talking.
"Morning, Lily. You sleep well?" He asked as he looked down at the files in his hands.
"Yeah, I slept fine. Have you seen Amir? He wasn't in his room." I told him.
"Yeah, Agent Kingston is in room T2." He told me with a smile, and I couldn't help but smile back. I loved his smile.
"Thanks. T2 is one of the training rooms, correct?" I asked as I began walking towards the stairs.
"Yeah, one of our advanced rooms. You guys sure do like hand to hand combat. He has been here since 5am."
"Yeah, we do. See ya later," I called out before opening the door to the stairwell. I climbed up the stairs, taking them 2 by 2.
The training floors were full of young, prospective Agents. A lot of them acknowledged my presence but many were too busy paying attention. I found T2 without any trouble. Unlike our training rooms, the viewing window was visible from the hallways. In our training rooms, the viewing window was built into the room and you had to take stairs to get into the room that housed the viewing window.
I watched as Amir fought somebody else. There was another group of perspective Agents watching as Amir's opponent stuck him in the chest. Shaking my head, I grabbed a hair tie off my wrist and proceeded to put my hair into a high ponytail.
"How many people are allowed in there?" I asked the group.
"Two," someone said. "It's one on one combat."
"This guy is getting his ass kicked!" Somebody else guffawed.
"Yeah, only because he isn't fighting the person he needs to be fighting." I mumbled.
"What?" A girl, who looked 16, asked as she turned to look at me and recognition clouded her eyes. "No way! You're the Lily Hamiliton!" She squealed and everybody in that hallway turned to look at me.
"The one and only." I replied
"You are like my freaking role model. Ever since I began my training 5 years ago, I have always looked up to you! You were one of the youngest Agents to do a mission! You were like 8 years old!" She gushed.
I just stared at her. When people who idolize me meet me, that's all I ever do. I just stare. I don't know what else to do.
"Are you going to practice?" Somebody else asked.
"Can we watch?"
I stood up and walked to T2's door without another word. Stepping into the room, I closed the door behind me and took in my new surroundings. The first thing I noticed was the viewing window was plastered with faces. Rolling my eyes, I scanned the huge room. The room was designed to look like a town. It had full sized houses, buildings and parks in it. A crash to my left had my exploration cut short. Amir had just been thrown out of one of them 3 story buildings. The glass seemed to be break-a-way glass because I didn't see any blood.
I stepped over Amir and looked at him. "You have been here for 3 hours and I come here to see you getting your ass kicked?" I asked. "You're pathetic."
