Something Worth Fighting For---Chapter 3

"So, let's make this good, Lily." Amir whispered into my ear as we walked towards the entrance of The Agency.

The Agency is a 60 story office building. But it looks run-down on the outside. Its fenced off and has No Tresspassing. It has below ground parking so nobody can see us pulling up or leaving. It also helps that its located in the middle of nowhere. This place was a second home to me. I always got the feeling of being welcomed when I stepped through the doors. I practically owned this place. I turned my attention back to Amir and rolled my eyes.

"I've been taking acting lessons since I could talk. Don't tell me anything. You-" I pointed at him "don't fuck this up." He chuckled as we stopped at the entrance of the building. He smiled. "I think its time for a very interesting breakup." We pushed open the doors.

"I swear, Amir, you are the most inconsiderate asshole ever!" I huffed as I stormed into the big foyer of the building. Of course, everybody's attention was on us as I looked around. Good, I thought with an internal smile.

"I'd rather be an asshole than a lying bitch, sweetheart." He spat, hatred laced his voice.

I blinked at his tone. Damn, he is a good actor. I scoffed. "I never lied to you, Amir. You are just so fucking jealous that you are seeing things." I matched his tone as I took a step closer to him.

"Me? Jealous? Of a lying bitch? No thank you."

My eyes flashed sorry as I slapped him hard across the face. The sound echoed through the now silent foyer. "We. Are. Over." I said, quietly. As I turned away from a "pissed off" Amir, he winked at me. People moved out of my way. As I rounded the corner, I heard Amir growl, "Lily!" Smiling to myself, I ran into something or rather somebody. The person grabbed my shoulders to steady me. "Sorry," I mumbled.

"No problem, Lily Pad." A familiar male voice said.

I took a step back and confirmed my thoughts. "Hey, Jacob."

This boy had the hugest crush on me since his first day here 3 years ago. He isn't that bad-looking. He is actually really handsome. He has dirty blonde hair with the prettiest hazel eyes that I have ever seen. His eyes are memorizing. Everytime I talk to him, I feel like I'm under his spell.

"You and Amir broke-up, huh?" Right to the point.

"You saw that?" I asked "sheepishly". Psh, of course he did. Everybody did.

"Yeah.." Jacob rubbed the back of his head, embarrassed. That movement made his arm and chest muscles more defined. "Pretty much everybody did." he said softly.

I groaned and hid my face in his chest. He hesistated like he didn't know what to do before he wrapped his arms around my waist.

"It's going to be ok. Besides, the news would have spread like wildfire anyways. This place is like high school."

I sighed and pulled out of his embrace. He looked hurt but he quickly covered it up.

"True. Well, I'm gonna go change for training." I said as I began to walk around him.

"Training is postponned. We got a new weapon." he announced happily.

"So we got class?" He nodded. "Well, I better get to use it." I said as Jacob took my hand and pulled in the direction of the classrooms.

Whenever The Agency gets new equipment, we have "classes" to demostrate on how to use it. The meetings are held in rooms that can fit at least 400 people. They are called classes because its just like school: we sit at tables and take notes while the instructer..instructs. I was sitting one of the front tables with my back to the front door.

"So, how you holding up, Lily Pad?" Jacob asked me. Him and his group of friends-Laine, George, and Tuck-were sitting in front of me.

I gave him a small smile. "I'm doing okay. Thanks."

He smiled right back at me for a bit before it turned into a full-on grimace. I looked over my shoulder and had to fight the urge to wave at Amir.

"He deserves his ass kicked." Laine said. Tuck agreed with him.

"Guys, chill. He isn't worth it." I told them wihile I thought. 'Geez, I didn't realize so many guys were protective of me.'

"She is right. He so isn't worth a suspension." George spoke up.

I turned my attention to him and flashed him a smile. "Thank you."

"Suck up." Jacob muttered. And we all laughed.

"Okay, class. Take your seats and lets begin." A new voice said and my body froze. Shit! Please...pleaase not him, I silently begged. I looked at Jacob's face and he had a sad look on his face. I looked around and saw surprised faces as the looked back at me. Fuck, this can't be good.

"I have started class, Agent. Turn around." the voice said again. I quickly wiped all emotion off my face as i slowly turned around.

"Hi, Father." I gave a little finger wave at my dad, who wore hatred on his face as he looked at me.
