The clank of the bell brought me out of my thoughts as I entered the coffee shop. I looked around before seeing the noticeable h/c hair sway in the small breeze drafting in through the small open window. She sat looking at her phone with a concerned look on her face. I slowly approached trying to figure out how to greet her without seeming to hyper or awkward. She turned and looked at me and waved me over to the empty seat next to her. I smiled and headed over to the seat. I hopped onto the tall chair.
"Hey Niall!" She said in a cheeky tone. She shoved her phone in her pocket and folded her hands together and rested them on the table.
"Hey Y/n!" I chirped. I adjusted in my seat.
"How are you?" She asked cocking her head to the side.
"You look...sad?" She finished, running her fingers through her hair. This was strange. I never had anyone ask me these questions before...
"Uh, yeah I'm ok. Just tired. I didn't get a lot of sleep last night." I lied more adjusting my own hair now. She nodded her head sympathetically.
"Alright, wanna get coffee and help how tired you are?" She asked morning to the register with her head.
"Sure, I'll pay." I smiled and began walking to the barista.
"Uh no I can-" she began but couldn't finish because I shushed her.
"Hi what can I get for you? My name's Hailey."
