I needed to protect her. That was the only thing on my mind. I crumpled up the note and looked left and right from the doorway. It was empty. I slid the door shut and locked it, my heart beating quickly. I stepped back to the table, shoving the paper into my pocket.
"Who was it?"
"Nobody, must've been a ding dong ditch or some shit." She nods as I lie through my teeth.
"Do you remember anything from before the accident?" I blurted out. She set the fork down, frustrated.
"Look Niall, I don't remember you or shit. Ok? Stop acting like you love me or what ever. Nobody can love someone after 2 and a half years of the other person being unresponsive." She was on the brink of crying. Her voice cracked.
"No, that-that's not what I meant. I was just wondering if you remembered your ex boyfriend? Or your parents." She sighed and rolled her eyes. What the fuck was wrong with her? This isn't the y/n I fell in love with.
"You know what? Forget I asked." I said angrily and standing up and walking upstairs into our room. I collapsed into the corner and hugged my knees. I checked back a sob.
This isn't y/n. She's changed completely. She doesn't remember me. She won't remember me. She doesn't love you Niall. She hates you. She fucking despises you. You saw the way she rolled her eyes and slammed her fork down when you asked a simple question. She thinks that all you care about is her remembering you. But that's true. I haven't even thought about how her parents feel or how she felt... God I'm so worthless...

I pulled the gun out again and placed it against my temple.
