Bleep.
Lottie sat up. She was in her bedroom, a fluffy grey blanket rapped round her shoulders, perched on the edge of her bed. She ran a finger through her hair and debated whether to look at that text. After the recent messages, she really didn't want to. The messages were from the killer, who had somehow got her number, and was threatening to kill her if she didn't give up the case.
But she wasn't going to give up. She was an agent. And have agents ever given up?
She didn't know any that had and if any had...she wasn't one of them.
Her eyes nervously studied the phone that lay, almost neatly, on the pink rug. Lottie cuddled the blanket closely and her thoughts began to whirl round her head like a hurricane.
What if the killer was just outside...peering though the window......?
Lottie shivered, her heart racing. Picking up the phone seemed like a challenge. A life or death task that she didn't want to take.
You are such a wimp, Lottie.
Lottie kicked herself. What was wrong with her? Why couldn't she do this?
Her heart sunk. Where had the determined person she was...gone? She rubbed her eyes, holding back the tears that were beginning to come. "Maybe I lost her...."she mumbled, chocking.
bleep.
Lottie nearly screamed. There was a very high chance now that the killer had just sent a message. But why? Had he just seen her cry and want to make a joke out of it?
Lottie instincts kicked in and she snatched up the phone. When she held it in her hand, for a second she paused. Did she really want to see this? A debate was just about to begin in her head but before it could start, for an unknown reason, something inside her told her to, 'just get on with it!'
So....she did.
Taking a deep breath, Lottie turned on the phone and forced her eyes to look at the page. Then she gasped...Orlando? No...his brother. What did her want with her?
Her eyes widened. He was giving a message from Orlando.
So it wasn't Tobias. It wasn't Elliott either. It was 'someone older.' On the suspects list that left Dave Lane. He was likely to be older but there was no proof that he knew Elliott.
Lottie sighed. This was getting nowhere.
She called Kai.
Lottie: Hey, Kai! Got some news on the case.
Kai: What? Is it good?
Lottie: *sigh* good and bad. I'm sorry but we are getting nowhere.
Kai: Oh. Doesn't sound good to me
Lottie: The good side is that we have successfully ruled out 1 or 2 suspects.
