Chapter 3

Alaina Mahone

Dad said I didn't have to go to school today. He's starting to get really suspicious. He CANNOT find out because he'll flip! I just went on my phone and didn't even bother to look at the rude comments people were saying. It's a good thing dad didn't see any of the comments. I turned my phone off and turned on the tv. "Hey dad? Can I have a friend over today?" I asked. "Yeah. Sure." He said. I called Diana. "Hey do you wanna come over today?" I asked her. "Yeah, I'll be there in 10." She said then hung up.

"Hello love." She said as she walked through the door. "Hey." I said. "Dad we're gonna go in my room." I said. "K." He said. We went into my room and she plopped down in my swivel chair.

"Ok so I have to tell you something." I said.

"What is it?"

I exhaled nervously then lifted up my sleeve. "Oh my God, Alaina! Why are you doing that?" She said and ran over to me. "Because, I'm bullied. You have no idea what I go through at school and even at my own house. People make fun of me at school right in front of my face and when I get home people make fun of me on twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. I've had enough of it. I grabbed my phone, went on Facebook, and scrolled through the posts.

"Oh Alaina. Why didn't you tell me sooner? Did you tell your dad?" She asked. "I didn't want to pull you into my problems. No way! My dad would flip!" I said. "But I think he should know if it's gone this far." She said. "I know but I just don't know how he will react." I said. "Well you should tell him before he finds out. He would probably want you to tell him and not have him find out any other way." She said. "I know." I said. "I have to go. Call me, okay?" She said. "Okay." I said and we walked downstairs. I walked her to the door and gave her a hug. I shut the door and walked over to the table. I sighed. "Dad I-I have to tell you something." I said nervously. "Oh no. You're not pregnant are you?" He asked. "No way. It's not that." I said. "Okay then what is it, hun?" He asked. I turned around so I wasn't facing him and pulled up my sleeves. I slowly turned around so I was now facing him. "Alaina! Why are you doing this to yourself?!" He said. "B-because I'm bullied at school and online." I said. He started crying. "No. Not again." He said. "What are you talking about?" I asked. "Y-your m-mom tried to commit s-suicide." He said crying even more. "She did?" I asked. "Yes." He said. "I'm really sorry, dad. I just couldn't take it anymore." I said. "Just promise me you'll stop and never do this again and never ever try to commit suicide." He said. "I can't promise that, dad. It hasn't stopped. I don't know if I can take it much longer." I said. "Then we're gonna make it stop." He said. "How?" He asked. "You could get home schooled?" He said. "Yeah, I'd like that but what about on the social media?" I said. "Block all the people who are doing this to you." He said. "Okay. Thanks dad." I said and gave him a hug. He held me tight but I liked it. He kissed the top of my head then let me go. I blocked everyone then I called Diana. (A-Alaina D-Diana)

D- Hey so did you tell your dad?

A- Yeah.

D- How'd he take it?

A- Okay. He got upset but he wasn't like mad or anything.

D- The good thing is that you told him.

A- Okay so I talked about the bullying thing with my dad and he said I could get home schooled so that's what I'm gonna do.

D- Okay. It will help you a lot. You shouldn't be getting bullied. You're an amazing girl.

A- Aw thanks

D- You're welcome but you can't let those things get to you.

A- Okay. I gotta go

D- K. Bye

A- Bye

We hung up. "Do you want me to order pizza?" He asked. "Yeah." I said. The pizza got here and we ate. "I'm really sorry I didn't tell you. I just didn't wanna hurt you and I didn't know how you were gonna react." I said. "It's okay. Just know that you can tell me anything." He said. I'm actually glad I told him because I feel like the weight of the world has been lifted off my shoulders.
