Chapter 4

Alaina Mahone

I had to go to school to get all the books I needed for being home schooled. When I came the school it was a Tuesday so there was school today. Right before I was gonna leave someone grabbed my arm. I turned around and saw it was Justin. Dad looked at me. "I'll be right out." I said and he went out the door. "Listen Alaina, I'm so sorry. I never meant for it to go that far. I was just jealous of you. You're a beautiful girl and you have a bunch of friends and I was jealous. I'm sorry." He said. "Why would you be jealous of me? I'm ugly, I hardly have any friends, and I'm bullied every day." I said. "But you don't deserve to be bullied. You're beautiful." He said. Then he kissed me. In front of a bunch of people. I found myself kissing back. He pulled away and looked me in the eyes. "Are you leaving?" He asked. "Yeah." I said still surprised by his actions. "Well I gotta go." I said and left. I walked out and walked to my dad. That was really weird. Why did I kiss back? Why did I even let him kiss me? Why did I like it? Do I like him? I'm so confused. "Who was that?" Dad asked. "Justin. He's a friend." I said. I tuned up the radio.

Turn your radio up, turn your radio up yeah.

"Oh my God." Dad said smiling. "What?" I asked. "Look at the name." He said

"I knew this sounded familiar." I said.

"I love your style love you smile..." I started softly singing. I felt dad's eyes on me. "What?" I asked blushing. "I didn't know you were such a good singer." Dad said. "I'm not." I said. "Yes you are. I should know. I worked in the music business for a long time." He said. "Thanks." I said. And kept singing. Soon the song was over and we got home.

I walked up to my room and turned on the tv. My phone dinged. It was an unrecognized number.

Can I come over tonight? We need to talk.

"Who is this?" I typed.

Justin

(A-Alaina J-Justin)

A- Oh. Sure you can come over I just have to ask my dad. What do we need to talk about?

J- You'll see.

A- My dad said you could come at anytime.

J- K. Where do you live?

A- (Add address here)

J- K be there in a few

He probably wants to talk about the kiss. 10 minutes later the doorbell rung and I ran downstairs and opened the door. "Hey." I said "Hey." He walked in and I told my dad we were gonna go to my room and he gave me the no funny business look and I texted him, 'Seriously dad? We're not gonna go that.' and he smiled when he read the text.

We got to my room and I sat on my bed and he sat on the swivel chair. "So what did you wanna talk about?" I asked."Um. So after I kissed you today I started thinking and I was thinking about us as a couple." He said. "Oh. Well I don't know. You did bully me a lot." I said. "And I regret all of it." He said. "Let me think about it." I said. "Take all the time you need." He said. I don't know what to do!
