I made the cover below/above earlier this week using this trick! It's really helpful for blending covers that either look choppy or need a little extra. I don't remember what the effect on photoshop's called that this effect looks like. If you know what it's called please comment.

1. Open the photo you want to use. This can be a cover or a random photo. Next, chose effects.

2. Chose artistic and then chose oil painting.

3. Now you can decide how 'oily' you want it to look. Personally, I don't like the look of it over 50 and when I'm editing a person's face to look like a painting I like to keep it pretty low.(like the example below) For the Medusa cover, I used the amount of 17.

Sometimes when I'm editing a face to look like a painting I'll erase the oil effect on the eyes. This way they look more realistic. (I don't always do this though and you don't have to do it either.)

Tada! I recommend adding text after just to make sure you can see it.
