One hour before (continued)
I think its her.
A figure clad in a t shirt and trousers and boots emerges. In her left hand she clutches what seems to be a wad of money, before tucking it into her bag. The door to the Happy Place swings shut behind her. I squint. Is it Sena? I see the front of her shirt tucked in but the back left hanging out her trousers. Yep, definitely her.
"Sena!"
I don't bother to wave. I watch her as she looks around. Her eyebrows raise, making her eyes look too large for her face.
I grin slightly, the only kind Sena can draw out of me. The glisten in her eye told me she was trolling, like she had done many times before. I wait, not bothering to follow her. She will turn around sooner or later.
But she doesn't.
She walks right up to the gate, and pulls on the rungs. Steps outside. Like she has a sense of purpose. I pull my bag close. So she isn't waiting for me.
I begin walking, then running.
"Sena!" I yell, sprinting across the pavement. "Sena, where are you going? I told you I was gonna wait by the park."
She stops in her tracks and turns around. I slow to a jog, clutching the side of my stomach as it cramps up.
"Sena, just quit the act." I say between heavy breaths, "How did it go?"
But she doesn't insist that she had finally had me there, or burst into giggles. She backs away. Shaking slightly.
She gives me a strange look.
"Who are you?"
