The birds started to chirp from the outside. I felt a cold breeze from the fan over our bed. I started to snuggle up to Jerry. I felt his warm arm pulling me in closer as he started to kiss my neck passionately. I chuckled with delight "good morning handsome". Jerry pulled me in closer "good morning gorgeous". I felt his warm hands on my stomach as he felt the baby kick. "Just wait when this fella is born. He will become a fighter" he said. "I don't know about that, but he will be handsome like his father" I said. Jerry kissed my cheek and got out of bed "well we better get ready later so we can impress the new neighbors". I went in shock; I completely forgot about meeting them today. I took a deep breath and got up to take a shower.

I decided to bake some cookies with the girls after we had lunch. I took them out of the over to cool for a few minutes till we could pack them up for later. As soon as they cooled, I placed them on a platter and put some foil over it. Heather helped Ally put on her shoes as Jerry helped me put on mine because I barely can see my feet. Heather decided to hold the cookies as we walked over. Jerry opened the door as we followed each other. Jerry held my hand as Ally and Heather skipped over to the house. We just hope they aren't like the Genome family. We stopped on their front porch "go on, Heather. You can knock" I said. She smiled and knocked lightly on their door. I could hear footsteps from the inside coming towards the door. Suddenly, the woman answered by opening the door lightly. She had really high heels on and a really short skirt on. She looked like she was dressed for a meeting for a strip club. "Hi, we're your new neighbors. We live next door, over there to you" Jerry said. She smiled so big that probably a thousand things can fly in her mouth "oh... I think I saw one of you getting the mail the other day". "That was me... uh my name is Ellie... Ellie Richardson. This is my fiancé Jerry and these little ones are our daughters, Heather and Ally" I said. She squatted down till her face met with Heather's and Ally's face "you both are adorable. Sadly, I don't have kids nor I don't want them. I just don't have time to change them, pick up from school, feed them... I'm just a busy woman". This woman seem very rude, but not that bad as the other family. Suddenly, the man I saw yesterday came up from behind her "hi, I'm Derrek Reed. This is my wife, Aprilia Reed". "We brought you cookies. They're whole made. We baked them this morning just for you" Heather said grinning. "Those look delicious. Thank you so much" Derrek said staring at me while he smiled. Some reason I felt something. Something felt strong as he stared at me. "Well... Aprilia make as delicious chicken parmesan if you all want to stay for dinner?" Derrek offered. "No...we don't want to take up space... you—" I said suddenly until Jerry interrupted "sure that would be great if you don't mind". "Not one bit" Derrek said. Aprilia signed and walked off "come in come in" Derrek repeated. We all walked in admiring their place. It looked very modern and cozy. The thing is that something didn't feel right about Derrek. The scent of chicken parmesan spread throughout the air. Aprilia started to set the table as Derrek grabbed a beer for Jerry and him. I grabbed some oven mitts and took out the dish out of the oven. "So, how long ago did you get married to Derrek?" I asked. "Not that long really... only a couple months ago then we moved here" she responded. "He seems like...a nice guy to be married to" I said. "He is, but he's always busy so I really don't know about our marriage" she said. "Oh... why did you marry him?" I asked. "For his money to be honest" she said. Oh great she's a gold digger... I wonder if Derrek knows that his marriage is a fake. We set the table and sat down at the table. Jerry sat at one end as Derrek allowed Heather to sit at the other end. Ally sat next to Jerry then me then Derrek and finally Aprilia. We started to talk about where they used to live and their family life. I bet you would be shock when you find out Aprilia grew up in a rich family. I wonder why she needs Derrek's money if she has all the money she can have. Well anyway, Derrek actually grew up in a trailer home with his foster mother and sister. He really didn't explain much about his childhood because most of our dinner, Aprilia talked about how great she was and how she was 'popular' in high school. Man she's annoying if I was honest with you. After dinner, I walked around with a glass of water and noticed a picture. It was Derrek and a little girl probably about 3 or 4 years old. Out of nowhere, Derrek came around the corner "that's my daughter Erin". I turned around in shock from when he showed up "Oh...you startled me Derrek". He smirked "sorry... people say that I'm good at sneaking up on people". I chucked a bit "wait... I thought you didn't have a kid... at least that's what Aprilia said". "No... not with Aprilia. My ex-wife Dahlia-we were young and stupid. I was 18 at the time and my daughter, Kaylie passed away when she was only 4 ½ years old" he said. I didn't want to pressure him, but I felt really nosey "if you don't mind me asking... how did... um Kaylie... pass away?". "After we had a divorce... my ex took custody of her before I said good-bye, but I really don't want to discuss it. Not now anyway" he said. I could see that he was trying not to cry in front of me. "Oh it's fine... even though we barely know each other, you can talk to me. I can keep a secret" I responded. "So your daughters are sweet... like you" he said. I looked at him as my cheeks turned into a dark red color. I started to fluster "I uh—". He came closer as he said every word "you know... one day... you're going to see... that your husband will do something...that will ruin your future... together... before your wedding... they always do". I backed up until I felt my back flat against the wall. He started to look at every inch of my body. His breath heated up my neck. Some reason I couldn't move. I could back away. Something felt off. Abruptly, Jerry walked in on us. Before he could see anything, I jumped and pushed Derrek out of the way. "Ally fell asleep on your couch, so we better get going" Jerry said. "Uh... yea... w-w-we should" I stuttered. "Well then... you have a good night now" Derek said in a deep sexy voice. I shook my head and started to leave with my family. As soon as we got to the house, I took a nice relaxing shower to clear my thoughts. The thing is that my thoughts were running in my head like they were trying to finish a marathon. I closed my eyes and I see the moment where Derek was breathing down my neck. I remember goosebumps started to form all around my body. I don't know what came over my body. It felt like when I saw Jerry for the first time. I remember my heart fluttered every time I was around him. Now I have no clue what my heart is telling me. Except-oh no, am I falling for Derrek?
