Chapter 6 : The Skelebros

You and McKenna bounce nervously, ecstatic. You get quizzical lools from your family, but you don't want to spoil it for them. You all keep walking, and you and McKenna offer to let dad take the lead, because you both want to be the ones to shake his hand. Your dad gives you a hug, and a worried look. You smile. You know he has nothing to worry about. Right now.

THE IDEA OF MEETING HIM FILLS YOU WITH DETERMINATION.

You and McKenna grow excited as you hear the all to familiar branch break behind you. As your dad reaches the bridge, you hear him. " Well, this IS quite a crowd, isn't it? By the way I am Sans. Sans the skeleton. Come on, turn around, shake my hand. Don't any of you know how to greet a new pal?" McKenna turned around eagerly. You let her shake Sans' hand first, because you know that she has been looking forward to this since the fall. You go second, then Jordan, then mom, and finally, nervous, dad. He has always been protective of you though. Any other male anywhere NEAR you makes him nervous. Sans speaks. " Welp. We are gonna have to hide you behind some trees. You see, I am supposed to be hunting humans, and MAN this is quite the jackpot." My family pales a little, but Sans continues, reassuring them. " Oh but don't worry, I am not into that stuff. But my brother Papyrus however... He is a human hunting fanatic. But even though he doesn't think so, he's pretty harmless. My worry is weather YOU ARE." His eyes (sockets?) Go dark. You know that he is serious, so you and McKenna shake your heads, and this seems to satisfy Sans. He directs your group across the bridge. Soon enough, Papyrus can be seen sprinting at us-top speed- frantically yelling "SANS! YOU CAUGHT HUMANS!" He approaches, excited.

MANY, MANY, MANY.. MANY... MANY PUZZLES LATER...

You and company tread, exhausted, towards a not-so-sturdy looking rope bridge. You know what to expect so you turn around and say "Hey... Uh... Guys. In a sec it is going to get a little freaky. Just... Uh... Trust me when I say nothing will actually happen." McKenna looks at you with approval, and prepares your brother. You prepare your parents, and make your way across the bridge. At the end you see Papyrus. He says "NYEH HE HEE!!! THIS WILL BE YOUR MOST DIFFICULT PUZZLE YET!!!" You listen patiently as the various dangerous looking objects descend from the cavern ceiling. The revolving dog always makes you laugh. Almost everyone else laughs too. Except Jordan. He has a distant look in his eyes. It worries you, but you decide to think about it later. Papyrus says" I am about to do it! I will hit this button... And CAPTURE YOU!!!" He pauses, and puts a hand on his skull. He turns to You and company. " But I will NOT activate it! You see, I am a skeleton with standards! My puzzles must be fair (cough- and workable- cough)" he says. You hear everyone let out a sigh of relief. Papyrus leaves, and as you all pass Sans he grabs your arm. "Hey kid... Here's a tip. Blue attacks don't hurt if you don't move. Oh and a hint for fighting my brother-" his eye (sockets?) went dark, sending a shiver down your spine.

"DON'T."

You rush after your family, and continue through the woods.

THE SCENT OF PINE NEEDLES AND THE CRUNCH OF SNOW FILLS YOU WITH DETERMINATION.
