My mother, the queen, woke Rina and me up in the middle of the night. "You need to wake up right now Evelyn. I need you to put on the clothes I left out on the bed for you, while I help Reina with hers." I don't know why mommy sounded so anxious so I made sure to get up even though I was still so exhausted. I then got dressed as quickly as I could to please her. So I got dressed in a white turtleneck, a long sleeve fuzzy shirt over top of that, black leggings, and a pair of jeans on top of that. Then mother and Reina walked into the room and she was wearing her heavy winter coat, a scarf, a hat under her hood and her mittens.

I felt very confused "Are we going somewhere this late at night." She grabbed my heavy winter coat and started to help me put it on. "Mama are we going somewhere." Mom looked at me and smiled sadly with tears glistening her eyes and she nodded. I suddenly got a very bad feeling taking away all the sleepiness I felt just a minute ago. She buttoned up my coat not looking me in the eye "You and your sister are going somewhere, but your father and I must stay here. So we're going to need you to protect your little sister for us."

My eyes got wide "What? Why? Where are we going? Why can't you and father come with us?" She grabbed my scarf and started to wrap my scarf around my neck. She shook her head "You're father and I have to stay here and protect the pack." I felt so confused "Then why can't we stay here and help you?" She smiled sadly "You will be helping us by living your lives safe and happy. That's all you need to know and that's all we need to for us to be happy."

She started to put on my hat "But I don't want to leave you, mommy. What about our feelings? Don't we have a say about what we want?" Tears were glistening my eyes making it harder to see her mother's sad expression. She cupped my face in her hands "Sweetie of course you do, but we just want the best for you and your sister. And of course your little brother Michael Ray Jules," she said rubbing her belly. I smiled with tears in my eyes "We're going to have a little brother?" She nodded with a smile on her face "Yes." I scrunched my eyebrows in confusion "But he'll never know his older sisters if we leave." She frowned "I know, but you'll understand one day that this is for the best. And one day when you're both older you can come back to us. Or when this is all over we'll come and find you wherever you are." I had tears streaming down my "You promise."

I sniffle and her face softened "I promise. Now I need you to be you'll be a big girl for me, your sister and all the other kids that's going to be going with you guys. And just like you guys they're going to be missing their mommies and daddies." I nodded as I whipped my eyes causing mommy to smile her. Then she pulled out a tissue and helped me to blow my nose. Then she helps to put my gloves on before putting my hood on top of my hat as she buttoned it so the wind couldn't blow it off.

She then carefully woke Rina up who has fallen asleep on my bed again. Then we all walked downstairs to the parlor area where the other kids who were taking this journey with us stood with their parents. Some with tears streaming down their faces just like I was just a moment ago. Some were clutching onto their parents for dear life. But what was surprising the most was the two boys who just stood next to their parents with a solemn look on their faces staring at the kids ahead. I believe their names are Mark and Erik Harrison. They are children of our top warrior John Harrison and his wife Cadence. They really are a lovely couple, but I don't know much about them or their children. I've only seen them a handful of times, but they seem nice.

Erik's unique gold eyes catch my emerald green ones causing me to stop dead in my tracts. He has short black hair, cold and distance gold eyes, his jaw was set into a frown, and wrap up in heavy winter gear just like I am. Mark was standing next to him he's eighteen years old now if I remember correctly and Erik is Twelve. Mark has sandy blonde hair just like his mother's, honey brown eyes, high cheekbones, fair skin and a pointy nose.

I felt mom's hand on my small back guiding me down the stairs. When I looked around I noticed that there was a total of ten kids including us and one adult, which appears to be Mark. I saw a lot of kids I knew or only know about like Levi Storm the daughter of my father's beta. Also Carley and Harley the daughter of my father's third command, who also happen to be identical twins. I also saw my best friend Sarah Garrison. Then there were kids like Kyle Frost the son of the pack's head chef who I barely knew or only saw around a few times. Also, Alex Parks and Derrick Lyle who are practically inseparable from one another. Well, there you have it there's all the ten kids and one adult who shall be leaving to go onto this journey far away from the homeland of our birth.

I looked around the room unsteady as we make our way our way over to where our father is currently standing in the front of the room. Everyone parts for us so we could make it over to him with ease instead of fighting our way over to him. Once we make it over to him he wraps us all into a tight bear hug then kisses us each on the forehead. Then he clears his throat looking out into the crowd "Dear friends, family, and fellow pack members I know how hard this, but as even my beloved mate has informed me, this is for the best choice for the children. I know how hard this is to let your pups out into the unknown world. But you have nothing to fear they will be well looked after by Mark the third son of our very own John and Cadence Harrison. He has been very well trained even their youngest son Erik who is known as the child prodigy."

Mother spoke "Yes and please try to keep in mind that if my husband and I weren't willing to send our own children out there and didn't think it was our best option then it wouldn't be worth it. I want to give my children the best possible life, although I don't want to leave them I know it is their only hope of having a happy life and so do you or else you wouldn't be here tonight. So let us say our goodbyes once more and then it is time for them before they must embark on their journey into a happy and hopefully peaceful life."

Mom and dad said and then turned to us and they hugged us. I held on to Reina's small hand into mine as I hugged them back. Reina followed my example and did the same. I breathed in their wonderful scents because it might really well be our last time to ever do it again. Mom's scent is honeysuckles and jasmine. While dads are aftershave, pine, and vanilla. Then I look into mom's blue eyes and dad's green ones. Their eyes were filling with tears that they refused to allow fall. Although, Reina finally got the gravity of the situation as tears were rolling from her porcelain white skin. They hugged Reina closely to their chest as they whispered their sweet goodbyes and the promise that they will meet again. And they asked her to never forget about them. Of course, she nodded and promise to never forget them as long as she lived. Then they gave us one more hug and promise to never forget about us and that they'll see us soon, hopefully.

Then our parents held our small hands in theirs. As we all walked out towards the back door of our castle. Then our parents kissed our foreheads before giving us one more hug and then we all run off into the dead of night and snow. I held Reina close to my chest never letting go of her hand as we ran with the other kids through the night.
