THE ENTIRE GRYFFINDOR TABLE KNEW that the golden couple a.k.a. James Potter and Freya Merse were in a fight. Since, for the first time ever, James didn't sit with Freya with her friends nor vice versa the next day on breakfast. It was also pretty noticeable since both parties were gloomy and quiet, clearly not something they do often — particularly, James.

After the kiss, James had stormed out of his own dorm, leaving Freya as confused as ever. He reasoned the kiss. But what did the kiss mean? Freya was left tossing and turning all night trying to figure out what she missed. But so far, she knew nothing.

The original plan of her — as told by Froyce — to admit her feelings were all destroyed because of Sirius Black. But, somehow, she couldn't will herself to be mad at the boy. After all, she still did care deeply for him. And her and James weren't dating — she and Sirius, technically, didn't do anything wrong. So, why was everything turning to shit?

"Is everything alright with you and James?" Marlene asked and Freya looked up from her plate to seen Alice, and surprisingly, even Lily looking concerned. To her right sat Mary and Marlene to her left who also mirrored the same looks.

Freya subconsciously look at the far end right of the table where James was currently eating as well, with Remus and Sirius in front of him and Peter beside him. It was odd looking at the Marauders. Since when James didn't seat next to Freya, he usually did with Sirius. And now, Freya felt like she ruined a lot of things and simple things such as seat arrangements proved that and it bothered her.

Freya turned back to them and deposit a sad smile. "We're having problems. But, it'll work out," she, again, look at James from afar and then added in a faint whisper, "I hope so."

"Has James done anything to you?" Lily prodded, concern etched on her face. Freya could see it in her eyes. Her craving of her to tell something negative about James Potter to prove her point from before as to why she shouldn't fancy him. And although Freya very much wanted James, selfishly unfortunately, for herself, she still doesn’t have it in her to bankrupt them from each other. Although their status was currently debatable, Freya still felt like it was her duty to continue the deal: to sell James to Lily.

And Lily did seem genuinely concerned. The two haven't been quite the same since after Christmas break and it was killing Freya, knowing she's been hiding from her. Lily always seemed like she was trying to be happy for Freya although she wasn't because she had feelings for James and Freya just wanted her to admit it to get the whole thing over with. But, then again, Freya selfishly wanted James Potter to herself, making her also wish Lily wouldn't admit her feelings. Freya despised the idea now that she had thought of it. She missed Lily.

"No, I wish he did but he didn't," Freya said. "It's my fault we had a fight."

"Really?" Lily looked surprised. "I'm sure it isn't that bad. I mean, Potter must be just being a diva as always."

Freya let out a small faint giggle. "He is a diva. But, no. I think what I did is serious." She literally did Sirius.

"Should we know?" Alice asked, raising an eyebrow in both dominance yet concern and care.

Freya sighed and the bit her lip. She looked down on her lap and said in the lowest voice near a whisper, "I kissed Sirius."

"What!?" All four girls exclaimed and Freya flailed her hands to their mouths — only reaching Mary's and Marlene's since also they were the ones who reacted louder and since they were the ones on either side of her — and shushed them.

"I didn't kiss him, alright?" Freya said in a low hiss. "I mean, I wasn't the one who did it first. He was the one who grabbed me and kissed me."

"And you kissed back?" Marlene asked incredulously.

"Yes," Freya said, blushing both embarrassingly yet frustratingly at the memory. "You guys know how I was with Sirius."

"Wait, since James is mad at you, then that means he knows?" Mary prodded further.

"Don't rub it in," she grumbled. Freya looked at them all looking at her like they want to ask a battalion more questions. Freya knew the questions. So, she sighed and explained, "I still care for Sirius, but that's it. I'm not hung up on him anymore. It was just that the feeling of triumph when he kissed me and said he wanted me back flew through me a second more than it should have."

Alice sighed and grabbed Freya's hands. Freya looked at Alice with sad, hopeful eyes, hoping for words of comfort. Alice looked solemnly at her and said, "Frey, I love you, but you messed up."

"Big time," Mary added with a face.

Lily shushed the two up with a disbelief look. Marlene wanted to laugh but she didn't at the same time since it would be rude. Freya  removed her hands from Alice's and covered them on her face and groaned. "Stop it. I know, I know. I'm stupid."

"Hey," Lily's soft voice washed Freya over. It was so long since she heard that kind of tone from her. Lily grabbed her hands and removed them from her face. She was met with Lily's sad smile. She gripped her hand and said, "It'll be alright."

Freya smiled back at her best friend. And for a moment, all awkwardness the two had for each other from the past disappeared. Lily had Freya back. And Freya had Lily back. She gripped the ginger's hand back and said, "Thanks, Lily."

"Okay, let's hold the sentimentals," Alice ended the moment when she spoke. She moved her head closer to Freya's direction and in a low voice, she asked, "The question is — who do you want to be with by this point?"

Freya's mouth opened as if she was about to answer almost immediately. Yet, she found herself not saying any name in particular. She looked at her friends, all looking hopeful and curious about her answer. And before she could say a name, a figure had cleared their throat from behind her.

Freya swore she saw Lily and Alice's eyes turn to slits as they look behind whoever was towering behind Freya. She turned around and her heart plummet down as she saw half of her problems in human form — Sirius Black.

"Freya," he spoke, his voice low and thick. Freya would've swooned if it was any other situation. Yet, she found herself unable to speak. Instead, her head automatically swiveled to where the Marauders were just sat earlier.

Peter looked plainly frightened of what was to happen. Remus looked like he was scolding under his breath. James, the one being scolded at, was now looking straight into their direction with a glare. Freya gulped.

"What do you want, Black?" Alice asked rudely, snapping Freya's head back onto their table. Sirius' head went to where Alice sat and the man rose an eyebrow at her.

"Oh, chill out, Fortescue." said Sirius. Alice made a face at him and Sirius did the same, even sticking his tongue out at her. The childish exchange would've been hilarious, again, if they weren't in the current situation.

Sirius turned his head down on Freya and in a lighter tone, he asked, "Can I speak with you, Frey?"

"Um," Freya licked her lips in anxiousness. She unconsciously looked back to where James sat only to find the spot empty. Neither Remus nor Peter were present either. And before she could think about it, she found herself saying, "Sure."

Sirius smiled lightly and he started walking. Freya took it as a cue to follow him. Her friends looked at her as if asking if she was sure of what she was doing. Freya gave them a small smile, as if saying she needed the talk, before following Sirius on suit.

She was praying she wouldn’t regret her decision.
