I didn't expect to wake up next to him and as i opened my eyes i half expected to see him there but he wasn't. I was revealed but i didn't know how to feel.
I lay in bed, refusing to get up from the warmth. The sun filled the room making me hide under covers. My room was really big and amazing.
I slowly get up, resting in the edge of the bed. A note catches my eye on the bedside table, lovely neat handwriting scribbled onto it:
Morning darling,
Sorry I'm not there, I had to go deal with some stuff.
Get dress and head down stairs, hopefully I'll see you soon
-A
I blush slightly and smile. I look around my room and thought, to hell with it.
I enter the amazing wardrobe i was given and all the amazing clothing inside. I gently lift to my feet and walk to the balcony hoping to start the day in a fresh and happy manner.
A soft knock comes from my door. I put on a smile and reply softly.
"It's open." I quickly find my dressing gown from last night placed on the chair Aiden sat on last night. Weird I don't remember leaving it there. I quickly throw it on anyway.
"You awake?" Declan's cheeky grin was the first thing i saw.
"Seems it." I smile and sit on the chair behind me.
"How'd you sleep?" He walks in and closes the door.
"Steady i guess." I smile "You?"
"Yeah, as well as i can." He rubs his neck and wanders over to bed, taking a seat at the end of the bed. He wore a pair of denim shorts and a black shirt.
"Hey, i never asked but what is this place?" I knew where we were but i didn't know anything else.
"This place has been running in Aidens family for years. His mother and father was a badass but troubles started and they stopped." Declan sat unsteadily "Aiden then moved in with me for a bit."
"Oh, damn." I silently mutter.
"Yeah, this place is good though." He get's up from the bed and walks to the balcony. "It's peaceful and off the grid. Your safe, we all are."
"But why bring me here?" I walk next to him.
"Because you were in trouble and Aiden made the call. Me and the rest just listen." Declan sounded upset.
"Why?"
"Because this isn't the life i wanted. but instead I'm stuck here. I mean there's money and adventures but i wanted more." I know his pain, I really do.
I get up to hopefully avoid his gaze. I wonder to the window "Hey. thing's aren't totally bad. At least we aren't drowning on our own blood or begging for death. We may be hiding but we aren't invisible. Let's enjoy it while we can."
"But we aren't normal. We can't even go to school without being caught and shot on sight." Declan whispered.
"Well look at us. Declan, we are living where teenagers like us only dream of living. We are living the dream. Life is shit but we are making the best of it." I know i lost everything and it's too deadly to try and fight for it but i was still somewhere where i can be safe.
