Lunch eventually rolled by and Aiden and the rest of the group was boring as ever.
I wasn't use to this life, things have always been quick, on the run if you will. This was smooth and slow, walking around what we have to do, avoiding it. I've always tried to face my fears, face my problems with a straight face.
This was boring, but I guess it's safer. I have to trust these boys.
We spent the rest of the day working out.
By afternoon I was exhausted. I couldn't feel my feet or arms.
Somehow everyone was walking and moving just fine, the boy's even had some extra energy. They ran around and jumped on each others back. Alice seemed to be more alive and active, as well as Aiden.
We were all sweaty and gross, thank god this house was built next to a beach.
I slowly walk upstairs, every muscle in my legs aching.
"Hey Cor." Aiden catches me going upstairs, sweat dripping down his forehead while he wiped it off with a towel.
"Yes?" I stop mid way through the stairs and leaned over the railing.
"How you feeling?" He wiped his forehead once more.
"Yeah, pretty good." I lied. My legs were jelly, my stomach in knots, my arms were so weak. But at least my summer body would be nice.
"You did pretty well, keep up the good work." He smiled at me. A wide fake grin, a grin I was soon to get use too.
I return the fake smile, "thanks."
He nods and walks off. Yeah, that was something. I rolled my eyes and took a deep breathe and started to attempt to move my already dead legs.
I eventually get to the top floor and make my way to my room, using the wall to keep my balance steady. I couldn't feel my legs, could you tell I don't work out? But I know this was all going to pay off, it had to be. When it comes down to it, I will have to rise to the task. In the end, this wasn't anyone else's fault except mine. I played with fire and I am destined to get burnt.
I bump into something hard and stumble back. I must've been so deep in thought everything around me turned to static.
"Hey, you ok?" Archer laughs and reaches for me, making sure I don't fall on my ass.
"Hey, yeah.. you ok?" I try and find my words when I realise I didn't even make him budge. I feel my cheeks go warm and I hated it.
"Yeah, I'm ok. You seem a bit unsteady. You sure you ok?" He releases me and eyes me up and down.
"Yeah, just jelly legs, never worked this hard." I laugh and try and act normal. Didn't work.
He laughs and shakes his head. "It gets easier, don't worry."
I roll my eyes at his head shake and lightly slap his shoulder. This guy could be an asshole but I can always be a bitch.
"Must be hard working out with a big head like that." I laugh and tilt my head.
"You also get use to that, precious." He lightly taps my nose and smiles at me.
The thing about this boy is that he knew he was good looking and flaunted it when he could. He was a hot head and it was funny.
"You did well in there girl. Looked good as well." He winks and smiles at me.
I laugh and shake my head, he was also a child at heart. "Keep trying child." I lightly tap his cheek and walk past him.
