AS CASSIE SAT at the end of her bed, she thought about the fist fight. How Alex had just snapped and provoked Montgomery enough to fight him, yet she knew in some way Alex wanted to fight him. Cassie couldn't understand why, and the only one to blame for that was herself. She had only been worrying about herself, not glancing around to check on others who could've had the same problem as her. It was eating her from the inside out, but she knew what the solution was. The only problem was tonight was one of the first basketball games of the year, and Cassie needed to be there soon.

Grabbing her duffel bag by the handle, she swung it over her shoulder and stopped in front of the mirror on her vanity. The reflection that bounced back at her looked paranoid and worried, but nonetheless Cassie tightened the ponytail on her head that was attached to a baby blue colored bow. The uniform she wore consisted of a dark blue long sleeved shirt that went mid-neck and was rather tight. Over it was the actual cheer uniform which was baby blue, and had two lines bending downwards, underneath the rest of the shirt was dark blue. Matching the shirt was a simple dark blue skirt, and Cassie, like the rest of the team wore plain white shoes. It was a simple concept.

After she started the engine, her car was down the road at a brisk pace. The only thing she worried about in the ten minute drive to the school was nothing compared to the wind blowing effortlessly on her face. It was a nice night to take a drive, even if it wasn't for the purpose itself.

Upon parking next to the many cars already at the school, Cassie unbuckled her seatbelt and with her duffel bag slipped out of the car, shut the door, and locked it in the process. When she entered the gym, she noticed most of the basketball players' eyes went on her, including Zach and Justin. From the sidelines where a Liberty High merchandise table stood, Marcus and Courtney exchanged glances between her and Justin. The attention she was receiving from their small dispute irritated Cassie, and so she focused her own attention on one of the cheerleaders from her team that was coming her way.

"Have you seen Jess?" Hayley King questioned, sparking a topic about the missing girl.

Cassie shook her head, "has she reached out to you?"

"Earlier today. She said she would be late, that she had to babysit for her mom until she got home," she replied, the expression on her face transferring confusion to Cassie's own face.

"She'll show up, I think," Cassie assured her, but she knew the cheerleader in front of her didn't fully believe her.

When their coach walked in, she counted heads, and marked down a few things for attendance. As she strode over to Cassie, the girl in question began to explain.
