I WAS ABOUT TO WALK OUT THE DOOR, REGGIE WAS PICKING ME UP.
"Cariño, where are you going all dressed up?" My father asks.
He's sitting at the on couch, drinking a glass of wine, and reading a book, next to him was our dog, Lady, laying down
"Um, out to dinner?" I reply.
"On a school night?" He questioned
"Yes?"
"Who's taking you?"
"Reggie."
"Where?"
"I don't really know but I have to"
"No, you don't, because you're not going." He cut me off
"What? What do you mean I can't go?"I say walking over to him
"I said it you can't go. I'm sick of you going out every night with that little hot rod Reggie to who knows where and doing who knows what? You need to stay home, you have school in the morning anyway." He says and takes a sip of his wine
"He's not a hot rod dad, he's just taking me out to dinner to thank me for helping him pass his quiz." I argued
"So you helped him cheat?" He asks
"No. I helped him study, Dad you're being unreasonable." I complain
"No. I'm laying down the law, you need to stop all this funny business. I know teenage boys and I know it doesn't end well with what you're trying to go with."
"I know, but-"
"No, buts, now go tell Reggie and tell him you're taking a rain check. You need a good night sleep if you wanna be in a good mood for your birthday tomorrow."
I sigh, I know he's just looking out for me and my well being. It's one dinner; it's not a big deal anyway.
"Alright, goodnight."I say and make my way toward my room with Lady following behind me
Reggie calls as I walk back to my bedroom and flop on the bed. Lady laid down next to me
