Aaron's POV
*Play Song*
Stop it.
Stop...it.
Just stop...thinking about her.
She's with someone else. She's happy...I think?
She smiles, but I know her smile.
And that's not it. It's something else entirely, and every time I see it, I break out in chills.
It's just so wrong.
I'm not blind...I think
I can see her grimaces—her whimpers. Her agony.
I can see her crying on the inside.
If only I could've seen it all sooner..
Stop it, Aaron. Its not your job to care like that anymore.
But I can still care like a friend, right? Like a decent human being?
And right now, from a friend's perspective...
I can see that something is wrong.
My thoughts are cut off by the sound of the doorbell.
I drag myself over to the foyer, gently opening the door.
"What's up, Katelyn?"
"Aaron...can I come in?" Her question was casual enough, but the look on her face said otherwise.
"Yeah, sure." I let her in, scratching the back of my hood.
Almost immediately, she turns around and starts to speak.
"You see it too, don't you?" She questions, crossing her arms.
"Katelyn—"
"Don't play dumb with me, Lycan. This isn't a game. You see it. You just don't say anything. You sit back and sulk."
As opposed to whatever you're doing?
My jaw ticks. "It's not my place—"
She scoffs.
"Aaron, cut it with the bullshit. You love her!"
I'm silent, my gaze dropping to scrutinize the simplicity of the floor.
If only life was as simple as hardwood floor.
"Are you just gonna sit back, and watch her suffer?"
I raise my head to that comment. "Katelyn, she could be happy. We could be mistaken here. I don't want to ruin that."
"Maybe you really can't see out of that mask—YOU SERIOUSLY CAN'T SEE HER SUFFERING!?" Katelyn fumes, fists clenching.
"YOU THINK I DON'T WANT TO DO ANYTHING?!"
Katelyn stiffens.
"You think that—I'm just fine with seeing them together, after all this time where I just want to be with her?!"
Katelyn remains silent a moment. Two, before she answers me. "Then why don't you do something about it?"
I'm about to answer, when an-all-too-familiar scream taints the air.
My gaze swerves to Katelyn, finding her eyes widening.
"Aphmau..."
Have a nice day my crystals!
