Dean-"I understand that the explanation of my story along with Gabriels is going to be one of misunderstanding....but Dean, I need you to understand.... " Cas sat Dean down on a bench. They were rested firmly in the middle of a calm park, the grass swaying with the light breeze and the sweet aroma of honey suckle vines that clawed up the oak trees plagued Dean.
Dean looked at Cas, his eyes set deeply in confusion. Cas laced his fingers together and looked down at his feet, then he began, "Dean. As you might know, me and Gabriel are brothers.... He is only one day apart in birth. For a long time, me and him have been watching you and Sam. Waiting for the right moment. He, of course got his moment his way. And I... I got my moment.""your moment was..."
"Gripping you tight and raising you from perdition, yes..." Cas nodded fervently, "me and Gabriel were assigned to watch over you two.... Guardian angels as you humans categorize it. We watched you from the beginning........ Until of course our times to finally show up and meet you in person like I said earlier. It was strict instructions not to get close... Attached... To you two. But there was just something.... Dean, you have to understand. Gabriel came to me after his last encounter with Sam, which was interrogating him about his half demon race, which I will explain further later. Gabriel told me he had fallen. At first I was confused by his words thinking maybe he had fallen from heaven. But how could that be? He is obedient. I asked him what he has fallen from... He said he hadn't fallen from not something but for someone. Gabriel has fallen in love with your brother.. And it hurts him. It hurts me. Because we both know it is gravelly forbidden... And he will be greatly punished. "
Dean opened his mouth to speak but nothing came out. Cas looked at Dean with sorry eyes, "Dean..... "
Dean stood up, his mouth dry and his mind flowing with questions that needed answering. But all that came out of Deans mouth was, "and What about you, Cas... " Dean stared at Cas, his deep green eyes forcing their way through Cas's soul.
Castiel looked away, "I fell Dean.... I fell like Gabriel, " Cas looked up at Dean with hopeful and sad eyes, "I fell for you. "
Deans hand went up to his chin, and he felt tears glaze a hazy curtin over his eyes. He didn't know what to think. His mind was blank, and his mouth felt like someone's stuffed a wad of cotton balls in there. Dry and hard to swallow. Cas just sat there, limp and bedraggled. He looked at Dean with those swimming blue eyes, pleading for understanding. Those blue eyes that always seemed to catch Dean in a loop, an unforgiving loop with false answers and bruises that hurt like an ember fresh out of hell. But those eyes... Damn those eyes. Dean stared at them, watching the blue mingle with the transparent color of Castiels tears. And he knew, even though the air was misty with pain and the ground felt like quick sand... Dean knew. He knew what he felt for Cas. Not a friendship. Not even a brotherly love, the kind of love he shared with Sam! This was different. No, this feeling deep in Dean, it's what snaps him awake every night... Its what fills him with a warm happiness when ever Cas shows up. And he knew it was love. He just didn't want to admit it.
"Cas.... "Dean croaked, he stepped forward. Cas stood up and looked at Dean with false hope.
"It's okay, Dean. I understand the pain is overwhelming and I know you cannot bear to see my face ever again... Good bye. "Cas turned around somberly, but stopped when he felt a light tug on his trench coat. He turned around to meet Deans smirking face.
"Don't ever think for a second I wouldn't want to see your face, Cas...... " Dean smiled and felt a tear slip down his cheek and pause at the base of his nose. Cas cocked his head to the right, lifted his hand up and brushed the tear away. Dean closed his eyes and felt the kiss on his lips before he could register any of it into his head. But it was gone almost as soon as it had happened, and he reached out but felt nothing there. He opened his eyes and realized Cas was gone. Dean was alone in the park, tears spotted his cheeks. He wiped the tears with the back of his hand like a child. He looked up at the sky and smiled, "I love you, Cas... And I'm not afraid to admit it. "
