Chapter 4

I woke up in my bed to the smell of pancakes. So doing the best thing there is possible when pancakes are made in the Way household, I got up, got and got dressed and came downstairs to see Lindsay making pancakes.

"Hey, Lindsay can we say good morning to gee in a 'special' way?" I say putting air quotes around special. She jumped when I said that...oops.

"You scared me," she said chuckling "But what do you have in mind?" she said grinning evilly.

And with that we came up with a plan, Linsday would wake him up and I would be hiding behind the wall with a bucket of pancakes and when they are about to go downstairs, Lindsay will stop him and ask him a very special question that will also be my signal. She will step back after the question and Gee gets pancakes served the right way.

"Ready?" Lindsay asks me a little excited. We are behind the wall now and Lindsay is about to go get Gee dad. Lindsay went to get Gee dad up and we are gonna start this oh so wonderful plan. After a couple minutes the door opened and Gee dad was in position. 

"Hey, Gee?" Lindsay said stopping him right before the stairs. This was my cue. 

"Hmm?" He mumbled I guess he's still asleep. I was in position and ready to strike. 

"What's the weekend pancake report?" Lindsay said with a confused looking Gee. It was my time. I dumped the pancakes on his head and ran onto the balcony. I saw him coming closer to the glass door so I did what any old gymnast would do.

I jumped over the balcony and left my feet holding me, I then grabbed onto the railing under the wood balcony floor and started swing bar after bar all the way to the wall. I then jumped down and did a flip mid-jump. When I landed on the floor I heard clapping and I turned to see Gee and Lindsay clapping. Gee came closer to me and I was confused as to what the heck he was doing so he picked me up and before I knew it I was in the pool. I can back up to find Gee dad laughing so hard he rolled into the pool himself!

So being the stupid 12-year-old I am I forgot I was in the pool and I fell under choking on the terrible tasting water. Gee dad must have noticed almost immediately because I could see him swimming under and bringing me up.(yes he can swim) We both came up gasping for air and as soon as we both were done I just hugged him. That man saved my life so I must mean something to him, so to surprise him I did the unthinkable. 

"T-thanks dad, I love you," I told him. Yes, I did and as soon as I said it I felt him smile and start crying. Oh no, what did I do? 

"I love you too sweetheart," he said back. No one has ever told me that before. I opened my eyes to see Lindsay looking a little left out. So I had an idea. Let's invite mom in, shall we?

"Hey, Lindsay can you help us out?" Dad said sticking his hand out. Lindsay grabbed it with an unsure face and soon that unsure face was replaced with surprise as she fell into the water as well. We all just swam around like a happy family would in their pj's. I have a feeling today's gonna be great.
