"Where are we going? I don't wanna leave, I need my medicine."

"(Y/N), I know you don't understand it yet, but let's get out of here. Run away with me."

Saeran had spent the entirety of his night escaping. After disabling the security system (and stealing some files from the office while he was at it), navigating through Mint Eye and avoiding guards, taking (Y/N) with, and running through the forest, Saeran had successfully escaped the clutches of Rika's grasp.

The only current problem was (Y/N) - She was still under the influence of whatever drugs she was on.

Saeran knew that even if they were safe for now, he had to take precautions. He had never learned to drive very well, and going out into the city to call a taxi with a visibly drugged girl would stir up some problems.

Of course, he couldn't blame her for the way she was currently. He knew it was his fault she was in this current situation, and he would have to be the one responsible for helping her out of it.

So where were they now? A motel.

Just on the outskirts of town. Just far enough from Mint Eye that there was only a very small possibility they would be found - And that would only be if Rika searched hard enough.

Saeran checked out a room for about a week - figuring it'd be more safe to move around than stay in one place.

Taking the key, he unlocked the door and never felt happier to see a bed. After running away all night, he was tired, and taking a look at (Y/N) who was nearly falling asleep while she was standing up, he knew she was too.

"(Y/N)," Saeran said, trying to get her attention before she nodded off, "It's okay for you to sleep. You seem to need it." He figured sleep might be the best solution for trying to sober her up.

(Y/N) looked up from the ground at him, and he noticed small tears had formed in her eyes. Then she began crying on the spot. Saeran's mind went tense with panic, having no clue why she was crying or how to help her. Mentally hitting his own head, he realized he should just ask he what's wrong in the first place.

Worried, Saeran took a seat next to her, debating whether to place a hand on her shoulder or not. He wasn't good at this comforting thing, and he didn't know what would count as stepping over the boundaries. "(Y/N)," He said softly, "Why are you suddenly sobbing?"

Maybe the words were blunt, but they carried a message of kindness.

"I don't know," She proclaimed, crying even louder as she hid her face with her arms, "I just-" She paused, and looked at Saeran, "Why am I here? Why am I alive?"

Saeran was taken aback. He actually expected it to be something about their current situation, so to hear her say that she was questioning her worth in being alive, nearly hurt him. It hurt, because he could tell what was happening to her. Without a continuous supply of the drugs from Rika, she was becoming an empty, broken shell of herself. A literal embodiment of her sad thoughts and feelings.

It hurt even more because now he had remembered those late night conversations, where he would talk about the problems in his past to (Y/N) and she would listen, and talk to him about it. He remembered how deep within his thoughts, he wanted to die as well. He, too, had questioned whether he deserved to live or not.

"(Y/N), you're here because you mean something," He started off, going against his previous thoughts and rubbing her back as she sniffed and tried to control her tears, "Because you mean something, and I'm so sorry that you got dragged into this. I'm sorry that I dragged you into this but," He looked at (Y/N) and noticed her breathing had begun to calm down a bit. He decided to continue on with comforting her.

"But I will fix this for you. For me. . . And for my brother." Whispering the last part, he removed his hand off of her back to move directly in front of her. She looked at him with eyes full of tears that hadn't fallen yet, and he spoke on, "We're..We're gonna be okay."

"Thank you, Saeran," She said with a nod and a sniff, rubbing her face to dry her own tears.

He nodded back at her with a smile, "Get some rest, alright? You look exhausted. I'll be up for a while if you need anything." Getting up from the bed, Saeran went over to where he set down his stuff and was reminded of the huge stack of files he had grabbed.

He doesn't know exactly what he wants to do with them, but if there was any important information against Rika and her 'foundation', it'd be helpful. Of course, it only meant there was a higher chance she would send someone to look for them. Deciding to sit and look through them while (Y/N) went to sleep, he sat at the desk and began searching.

'It's not likely anything important would be kept where anybody can grab..' Saeran thought to himself, 'I just hope this is a good stack. Anything on my brother or myself would be helpful as well.'

Flicking through file by file, Saeran searched specifically for anything about whatever brainwashing technique they were using, and thought back to (Y/N)'s current state. She wasn't being, well, controlled for as long as anyone else, so Saeran hoped it'd also be easier to help her.

He needed to help her, he wanted to.

About 10 minutes later, he could hear the soft snores of (Y/N), glad she was finally asleep. Saeran actually felt happy about the fact she was asleep, knowing she's been through so much this past month and deserved a break.

'I spend too much time thinking about her, don't I?' He questioned his own self, 'But how could I blame myself? None of this would've happened if I had just realize some thing sooner. I just want her to be happy. I feel like she deserves that. Every innocent person being controlled back at Mint Eye does.'

Getting back to the original thought of searching through the files, he noticed he was halfway through and had only seen labels titled 'Building Plans' or 'Technical System'. This was extremely exhausting, especially when it felt like he was getting nowhere.

Saeran sighed and ran his hand through his hair, beginning to feel tiredness in his eyes. Moving the stack of files he already skimmed through to the side, he decided to get his own sleep right where he was, not yet comfortable with the idea of sleeping next to anyone.

"Goodnight, (Y/N)," He whispered, before yawning and closing his eyes.

A/N: Heyo! Just letting you all know, I'm nearly done with finals, and school is nearly over! So I guess, expect more longer updates, and updates in general?
I'm sorry if this chapter is particularly short, I just needed to rush out an update before I have to turn in my school chromebook. :((

Also! I will be majorly editing the chapters 1 - 5. Nothing significant for the story line, but I'm changing the wording and making the characters less OOC, so when the edited updates are posted, you won't have to read them unless you really want to!
