Jessie's P.O.V
It's been several years since Andy left. Alex and Mark missed him as well. They still hung out with me because I knew Andy and they were my other guy friends. So yeah. It was already High School and still Alex and Mark hung out with me. We three grew very close to each other like family. 24/7 we would keep saying we miss Andy and everything about him.
I still kept the flower Andy gave me before he left me with my heart broken. It was the only thing that reminded me of him and his sweetness.
Mark, Alex and I walked to our first period class which was Creative Writing. Mark and I had every period together. Alex well he was younger than us. Only one or two years apart. We sat in a group, only us three. We did our daily routine. Take out a pencil, paper and whatever we need to get prepared for our day then we would place our backpacks at the back of the class because usually students would get distracted with their electronics.
Our Creative Writing teacher Ms. L was about to say what we were going to do for today until a knock from the door interrupted. Ms. L walked towards the door and opened it. Everybody's attention went to the boy who came into the class. He had shaggy brown hair just like Andy. Mark, Alex and I turned our attention to the boy.
"Do you think he looks like Andy? 'Cuz he actually does." Alex whispered to me, still staring at the new kid. Mark looked at me with a confused expression. I looked back at him. Then he stared at Alex, and back at the new kid. Ms. L looked back at the class and gestured for the boy to come and introduce himself. The boy shook his head, but still approached the class.
"Okay class. This is Andy Janson." Ms. L announced. Alex, Mark and I exchanged glances back and forth. Was it really Andy? Andy from L.A. No, it couldn't be. If he was Andy, he wouldn't recognize us. Not at all.
Ms. L told the boy to sit anywhere, anywhere where there was a free seat. The girls would push a boy out of their seat so Andy would sit in their group. Andy looked around, then he stared at our group. he approached our group and sat beside me. Of course. Their was an empty seat beside me. Damn it.
Andy stared at us and smiled. Did he recognize us? By the look of his face, I guess he didn't. Andy's features changed like literally. He was more cute and everything. Mark and Alex stared at me with wide eyes.
"What?" I whispered. Barely audible enough. Mark smiled at me then paid attention to Ms. L. Alex looked at me too with a smile and then paid attention to Ms. L too.
The class' assignment was to write something that you favored of a person. And it was to be a secret. The person that you favored couldn't get to read it if you didn't want them too. Andy looked back at me.
"Do you have paper? I don't have any. How prepared." he said followed with a chuckle. I made a fake chuckle and took paper out for him. He took it. The he pulled out a pencil out from his pockets. He doesn't have a backpack? I thought. He stared at me once more.
"What's your name anyway? At least I have to know your guys' names." he said as he looked up at Mark and Alex. "So, what is it love?"
"Um, Jessie. Jessie Sanders." I answered hesitantly. I smiled and he smiled. Mark and Alex kind of frowned at Andy probably because he didn't remember me. Well duh, it's been a while since he last came here. But hopefully stating my name should've clicked.
"Nice name. What's your guys'?" he said looking back at Mark and Alex.
"Mark Wilson." Mark answered with a stern look.
"Alex Jefferson." Alex answered. He gave the exact same stern look as Mark. What was their problem? Anyway it didn't mattered. Did it?
"Oh ok. Anyway, who are you guys gonna write about? I'm just curious. And you don't have to keep it from me. I probably don't know them." Andy said followed with a laugh. Mark and Alex scoffed and started writing whoever they favored. I was kind of curious too but I didn't want to make it more awkward than it already is. Andy widened his eyes and started writing too. And so that I meant I had to too.
One question brewed in my mind. Who was I going to write about and what did I favor about them? I thought about Andy who was sitting beside me. I had to made sure it was Andy. Many people could have the same first and last names. I kept looking at Andy who was actually doing his work. I looked at Mark and Alex who also were doing their work. What's wrong with me? I'm not like this! I don't do my work because Andy's here again.
"A-Andy." I whispered to him. Andy looked at me. His hair falling over his eyes again like when we were small. I gazed into his eyes.
"Yeah. Why are you whispering?" he asked me. I cleared my throat and sat straight up. Well this was awkward.
"Do you remember me?" I asked timidly. He stared at me for a few minutes until he answered.
"What do you mean?"
"I mean I heard you were here in Green Garden's before, right? Several years ago."
"Oh. You mean do I remember you from my childhood?"
"Yeah. I mean you gotta remember Mark and Alex from your childhood."
"I don't remember meeting you Jessie, I'm sorry." he answered ending the conversation. I looked at him finally then back at my paper. How can I write about Andy if he doesn't remember me? It'll be awkward because what if the class had to read aloud? The class will probably laugh at me and Andy will glare at me for the rest of the year.
