Chapter 6

(Y/N)'s P.O.V

When Ruby and I got back home, Yang was already back and sitting on the couch. "Hey, you two," She says as she flips through different channels on T.V.

"Hi," Ruby says happily. I look at Ruby and smirk, she looks back at me, confused.

"Follow my lead," I whisper to her. Ruby nods following behind me as I walk over to Yang. I stand in front of the T.V. to block her view.

"What's up?" Yang asks, slightly concerned.

"Hi, Yang!" I yell as I jump on her and hug her tightly. I notice Ruby smiles as she jumps in on our hug.

"Family!" Ruby says happily.

"You two are so heavy," Yang groans, but stills hugs us back. Ruby and I both get off of Yang and take a seat on each of her sides.

"Hey, who wants to go have some fun?" I ask with a smile. Both the girls give me a confused stare. "Let's go hunt some Grimm," I say standing up and stretching.

"Alright!" The girls say in unison as they get up. They both rush upstairs to grab their gear as I stretch and grab my hoodie along with a small pocket knife. Both girls come down in there battle outfits and are carrying their weapons.

"Ready to go?" I ask grabbing a key to the house. The girls nod and I open the door to let them out. I follow after them closing and locking the door behind me.

We head towards a spot I know of where there are usually only a few Grimm. Once we're there we start our search.

"Alright let's get hunting," I say looking for Grimm. "Yeah!" Both girls say throwing their hands up in the air.

As we search I feel my left arm get pressed against something soft. I turn to see Yang holding my arm to her chest.

"(Y/N) could you hold me I'm scared of the big bad Grimm?" Yang says with a playful smirk.

"Aren't you supposed to be the oldest?" I say laughing a little. Yang gives me a small giggle, which was pretty cute. Next thing I know, from the corner of my right eye I see rose petals rushing towards us. "Aw, crap," I sigh preparing.

Ruby rushes into me almost knocking all three of us on the ground. I somehow manage to keep us all up, but now I've got Ruby on my back and Yang is still holding me.

"This is how it's gonna be until we find some Grimm, isn't it?" I sigh. Both girls nod happily as I continue looking for Grimm. Eventually, I finally spot one in the distance.

"Hey you two, get off of me, I found one," I say pointing ahead towards the Grimm.

"Alright right!" Yang says running towards the Grimm.

"I honestly feel bad for that poor thing," I say as I watch Yang get closer to it. "Don't worry they're evil," Ruby says swinging her feet back and forth as I continue carrying her on my back.

I sigh and look back towards Yang as she punches the beowulf in the face. "Ruby, don't you wanna fight one too?" I ask.

"Sure that sounds fun and all, but I like spending time with you," Ruby responds cheerfully. I set her on the ground and look her in the eyes causing her to blush.

"(Y-Y/N)?" Ruby stutters in embarrassment. "Are you saying that because I'm your brother or because of your crush on me?" I ask with a serious look. Ruby looks towards the ground poking her fingertips together.

"I guess it'd be both,," She says almost to quite to hear.

I sigh to myself and contemplate whether I should tell her now or not. "Ruby, would you like to enter my mind?" I ask. No going back now.

"Really!?" She asks excitedly. I nod as to put my hands on her cheeks. "You might not like what you see," I tell her.

"It's alright, I love you no matter what," Ruby tells me. I sigh and in an instance, me and Ruby are in my mind. The blank and dark part of my mind.

"It's dark," Ruby says.

"Don't you like it," Shadow says as he appears in front of us. Ruby grabs my arm and holds me close.

"Ruby, this is shadow," I say, pointing at him, he waves. Shadow then gets really close to Ruby.

"You have silver eyes," He says. Ruby nods in confusion. "Yeah," She says. Shadow looks confused as well. "Those feel important for some reason," He says tilting his head.

"Shadow could you take us to the more colorful part of my mind?" I ask. "Sure thing," He responds walking ahead of us. I see Ruby smile as we walk.

"Here we are," Shadow says pointing towards my memories.

"Thanks," I say as Shadow disappears.

"(Y/N) why is your mind so dark, literally?" Ruby ask. I decide to ignore the question for now.

"Look, Ruby, its the memory of our training with Qrow," I say pointing to it. Ruby smiles not noticing I ignored her question.

"I love that memory," She says. "Me too," I say quietly as I look up at it.

"Look that one is from when you left for Beacon," I say pointing towards another memory. "I like that one to, even though I had to leave you," Ruby smiles.

We continue looking through old memories and just having a good time. I try explaining my semblance again, but as always Ruby just gets confused, making me laugh a little. Eventually, we just relax as I create a couch for us to sit on.

"(Y/N) if you can make stuff in your mind why don't you make the black area brighter?" Ruby ask. I sigh as I stand up and walk towards the edge of my memories. I create another couch halfway in the dark and halfway in the light. Only the half on the light side shows up.

"I can't, that's why," I shrug.

Suddenly I get a huge headache and all I can do is watch as darkness begins to cover the memory that made Ruby fall in love with me. Once it's covered I can't remember it at all.

"Are you alright!?" Ruby asks running over to me.

"I'm fine Ruby, well actually that's a lie," I begin to tear up, "but I guess I should tell you. That darkness is destroying my brain and in the end, it'll end up killing me," I tell her as I clutch my head.

"W-what do you mean?" Ruby ask. "In short, I'm dying, Ruby."
