'It could just be a trick of the light,' said Oliver doubtfully, watching the silver glow that hovered over the trees.

'Or Tom coming to visit,' said Rose.

'So soon?' asked Will.

As one, they started walking towards the woods. As the silver glow grew stronger, they broke into a jog.

'And no one else has seen anything odd, apart from when we first got back?' checked Oliver.

'Nope,' said Rose.

'Nor me,' Will added, eyeing the woods suspiciously.

Raindrops started to fall from the sky.

Will glanced at Rose, who raised her eyebrows and said:

'It's not rain – it's Cornish Sunshine.'

'Rose; I hate to break it to you, but it's wet and made up of water – it's rain.'

'C'mon,' said Oliver. 'Let's try and get to the woods before the heavens properly open.'

The three of them glanced at each other and silently said; 'race you.'

With shouts of laughter, they raced up the hill towards the woods, getting considerably soaked in the process.

Just before they entered the woods, they stopped to get their breath back and turned around to look at the view:

Over the fields of Tintagel, they could hear the waves crashing onto the rocks. The afternoon sky had turned a dark metallic blue with the sun, despite the rain, throwing out its last remaining light from behind dark clouds.

Even as Rose, Oliver and Will watched, the wind picked up and the spray from the waves was swept high into the air; a winter storm was setting in.
