"Listen, I don't know about you but I'm planning on getting the fuck out of this prison. I know how to, are you in?" I asked Grace the next day during lunch.
"Why are you asking me?"
"It's a two-people job."
"And what if we do escape, what then?"
"I've got some friends out there, on the run. We'll join them."
"I can't, I have to go to Texas, I have a friend there, Maddie. We used to live in Florida but had to run when our best friend got arrested." My eyes widened as something in my head clicked. "What's your friend's name?"
"Millie."
"Brown?"
She frowned. "Yeah, have you seen her?"
"She's one of us now."
"Well is she okay?"
"Last time I saw her she was."
"You know what, I'm in if I get to meet Millie."
"Great, I'll tell you the plan once my friend, Luna, has turned off the audio supervision." It was part of a deal we had. Noah knew about it and had probably contacted Luna as soon as they got back to the Upside Down.
"Well won't they already have heard this?"
"No, they only use the audio to find guards that helped people and stuff."
"Okay."
"So..." There was an awkward silence. "Do you know Millie well?" Grace spoke up, staring into the distance. "Yeah, I like to think that I do. But lately we've been a bit distant."
"What happened?"
"She got a boyfriend." Grace squealed at the last word. "Oh my god I need details. Is he cute? Does he treat her well? Are they happy?"
"He treats her really well, she occasionally doubts her feelings for him, I wouldn't know wether he's cute or not, I'm gay. Also I hate him slightly because I like Millie."
"That's the most emotional thing I've ever heard anyone in here say."
"Guess I'm just an emotional wreck."
A guard led us back to our cels but Grace couldn't go into hers because of "maintenance" (according to Natalia). "Just toss her in with Sink." Dyers said, checking the sturdiness of the bed. The guard did as she said and then left.
"Did you hear that, Sadie?"
"That's the signal, Luna turned off the audio."
"Good, what's the plan?"
"Dyers, the one "fixing" you cel will help us. She's a friend of mine. She can get us out of this cell and get us guns."
"I don't know how to use a gun."
"Just point and shoot."
"Wow, thanks."
"Anyways, when we're out and armed we need to jump a guard and get his ID card. We can't get Natalia's because that would seem really suspicious."
"Okay, got it."
"With that ID we can open the doors and make it to the hall, hopefully without any guards noticing. I've gotten Montgomery to cause an uproar under the prisoners so all guards will be called to that, they may find the guard we jumped but by then we'll be gone."
"And then?"
"We just need to make it past the two guards by the door, over the fence, Luna will take out the electricity, and then jump in the van. You in?"
"Definitely."
"Get ready, once we're out, we will only have five minutes to get to the van."
"You sound like you've done this more than once before."
"I have, this is my seventh time breaking out."
"I'm guessing a lot of people find that impressive."
"Yup, they do."
"But it does mean that you've been caught seven times."
I shut up at that and set the plan in motion.
I climbed on the bed, made an almost impossible jump, and took out the camera. Natalia handed both of us our guns. "Now shoot me, Sadie. Preferably in the leg or arm or something like that." Without even blinking I shot her and grabbed the key to our cel as she fell, letting us out before dropping the key ten feet from the guard. I grabbed Grace's arm and pulled her along as I started to run. I waited for a second at the end of the hallway until a guard approached us. I jumped out and Grace followed. We took the guard by surprise and Grace knocked him out with her gun. "I may not know how to shoot but I'm still good with a gun." I snickered slightly. "Grab the card, let's go." I said, rolling my eyes at her slightly. We reached a locked door a minute later and she quickly flashed the card by the scanner. We immediately heard a lot of noise coming from the prisoners and a lot of footsteps moving away from us. We both shut up and I motioned for Grace to follow me. After ten minutes of sneaking, we made it to the hall. "Hey!" The left guard yelled when he spotted us and I quickly silenced him with a shot to both arms. I did the same to the other, just as he was about to pull the trigger on Grace. We made it outside just as our van speeded our way. We quickly climbed over the fence and managed to escape the guards flocking out of the prison to stop us. I pulled open a door and practically shoved Grace in before getting in myself.
"Grace?" Millie's voice spoke up as my eyes were getting used to the darkness inside the van. "Millie?" The two hugged tightly as they began to cry. I rolled my eyes slightly and sat down next to Noah who handed me a bottle of water and some bread. "You okay?" He whispered as Millie introduced Grace to everyone. "No, but I will be." I took a sip from my water. "Look at her," I started staring at Millie, "last prison break, Finn was introducing her to us. Now there she is, doing the same for Grace."
"If you say something about your children growing up so quickly, I'm gonna slap you." I laughed. "I missed you, man."
"Missed you too, dude." Grace and Millie had somewhat calmed down and I could see Finn staring at Millie with less love in his eyes than usual. "What happened between the dream team?" I asked Noah. "She kicked him out of the room and moved your stuff back in. She missed you a lot, you know." I smiled slightly and shot Finn a wink, him sending a death glare back. Gaten noticed the tension and turned on the radio, causing him and Caleb to bicker about what music to listen to.
God, I'd missed these dorks the past few days.
