My blood ran cold but I knew I had a job to do. The crowd was utterly confused and murmuring amongst themselves as I pulled the trigger. It became quiet until one woman screamed. Then, mayhem. I ran down the stairs to find three knocked out guards and Noah fighting three more. "Noah, run!" I yelled, knocking one of them out. I took care of another one while he knocked the last one out and we ran for our lives. "How did he know we were there?" Noah asked me while running. "Don't know, doesn't matter right now."

We reached Finn and Caleb ten minutes later and pulled them along as we ran towards an alley. "Clothes." I said, holding out my hand towards Caleb. He threw me a hoodie and some sweatpants and I stripped down to my underwear while Finn paid off the people in the alley. One of them couldn't have been more than 13 years old. "Okay, let's go." Noah said when he was also in some unsuspicious clothing. We calmly walked back to the motel with our hoods up and talking like a normal group of friends. Finn wasn't speaking to me. We made it after 30 minutes due to having to avoid the cops. Caleb told us to wait outside as he got us some rooms. He ended up sharing one with Finn while I had one with Noah.

"How do you think he knew?" Noah asked me that night when we were both in bed. "I don't know." I said, chewing on my lip. "And why didn't he stop us?" I bit open my lip and moved on to my nails. "It's like he wanted us to kill him." Noah said, turning around. He was thinking out loud by this point. "This whole thing stinks, and not just because of death." He murmured, falling asleep soon after. I smiled when I heard his breathing slow down. We could sleep anywhere but the house and the van. I got why, though. We were safest in motels while on missions. No leaders to beat us up in the middle of the night.

"Sadie, wake up." Noah said, shaking me awake while pulling on a shirt. "Five more minutes." I groaned. "Sadie, the cops are here, we have to run." I don't think I've ever gotten dressed quicker than that (except for the time Noah had made pancakes for breakfast) and we were outside in thirty seconds. We snuck out of the building and into the van while Caleb paid for the rooms. I could hear Finn talking to some cops and hoped to god he didn't hate me enough to rat me out. We were calmly crossing the parking lot when we heard someone stop us. "You two, where do you think you're going?" A cop asked, a gun trained on us. He was too far away and we both knew only one of us would be able to run. I did a dead man's salute and charged towards him, Noah running off, knowing better than to argue with me. I was shot in the leg before I was even ten feet closer. I was knocked out soon after but I could hear the van driving away, indicating that my plan had succeeded.

I woke up in the infirmary of the prison I'd escaped from twice before. "Ah, Captain Sink, you're up." A nurse said, writing something down on her clipboard. "It's just miss Sink."
"Okay, just miss Sink." I rolled my eyes at her and sat up. "You have a bullet wound in your leg, you can't stand."
"Bite me." I snapped back. "Just do as she says before they tase you." The girl in the bed next to mine spoke up. She looked incredibly beat up and it actually looked like she'd tried to fight off three lions on her own. "Grace, lay back down before you pull your stitches." The nurse instructed, walking away afterwards. "So, Captain Sink, what you in for?"
"Don't call me that." I instructed. "You've been here for two hours, I would not suggest you get bossy already."
"I'm in for mass murder, treason, assassinations, and, knowing the King, a lot more." She fell silent. "You?"
"Small theft." I snorted slightly. "Well I'm sorry for not being a psychopath at sixteen years old." I jumped up at that word and leaned over her bed. "Dont. Call. Me. That." She seemed to get smaller with every word. "Captain Sink, step away from miss Vanderwaal." A guard instructed, grabbing my arms. "You seem to be well enough, let's get you to your cel." I nodded and pulled my arms loose. "I'm cooperating, no need to get handsy, I can get you reported for that. I am under eighteen." He let go of my arms and Grace gave me a weird look. Like she was scared of me but at the same time respected me. "I don't need a tour, just take me to my cel." I said when I realized he was leading me to the courtyard. "Very well, Captain, let me lead you to your cel." He said, making me roll my eyes at the title. After three minutes of awkward walking, we reached my cel. It seemed like the girls I'd be near were aggressive enough. Good, I like a challenge and I knew I could take each one of them out. "Has the schedule changed in the past year while I was out?" I asked the guard, who shook his head. "Which group am I in?"
"Group H." He locked my cel behind me and walked away.

"Been here before, huh?" The girl in the cel next to mine spoke up. "You could say that." I replied, sitting down on my mattress. "What you in for?" She asked me. I still wasn't able to see her. "The usual, mass murder, assassination, treason, few other things. You?"
"Killed some people with an ax."
"Nice, I prefer guns and knives but axes take some skill."
"Tell me about it."
"Oi, you two, shut the fuck up." A voice called. I recognized it but couldn't place it at first. The guard walked up to our cels to scold us and I saw their face. It was Dyers, my friend. She winked at me while telling us once again to shut up, and then walked back to her chair by the door.

One thing I really hated about being in prison, was the beds. They were harder than one of the male inmates when they saw one of us. I gave up on the springs digging into my back and slept on the floor instead.

"Everyone up!" The guard yelled around 6 am. "Come on, ladies. Get the fuck up." I sleepily arose but woke up in a second when I saw the face in the cel across from me. Grace. In the cel block for murderers. She lied to me.

"So, murder." I said, planting myself next to Grace. "Yup, you got a problem with that?"
"I got caught after assassinating Lieutenant Heather. I don't have a single problem with it." She chuckled and I looked down at my pathetic prison breakfast. "Well well well, looks like the little bitch found herself a little friend." A voice behind us spoke up. I turned around and saw five girls walking up to us, the blonde one obviously being the leader. "She's not-"
"To be messed with." I finished Grace's sentence. The blonde threw her hair back and looked me up and down. "I'm pretty sure we can take you, Ronald McDonald." She said, gaining laughter from her gang. "That's Captain Sadie Sink to you." I replied, readying myself for a fight. They recognized my name and all shot each other looks. "Whatever, Sink. No way in hell you can take out five of us."
"No way in hell am I gonna lose." I growled back, stepping closer. There was a second of silence and raised eyebrows before she attacked.

I don't remember much of what happened during the fight, I never do, but it ended with me twisting blondie's arm out of its socket and the other four lying on the ground, unconscious.
