''So did you talk to Giovanni?'' Dimitri asked me.
''Yes, we agreed to meet today for lunch to talk.''
''Does he know what your intentions are?''
''Well no. '' I see Dimitri give me a weird look so I quickly add '' But well I plan on telling him.''
''Alright that's good. You should get going now, it's almost time. Where are you guys meeting?'' Dimitri inquired.
''Um, I'm not sure yet. He said he'll pick me up here.''
''Alright, call me if you need anything. I gotta go, I'm meeting up with Adrienne at the station.'' Dimitri blushed.
Adrienne was the sergeant of the Major Case Squad. Dimtri and I would work with her and her team of special detectives on serious, extremely violent or high profile cases that recieve a lot of media attention. We had recently worked together trying to convict rapist and murderer Claudio Rubenski. I hadn't seen her in a while but apparently Dimitri had. I also knew something was up with them but now my suspicions were confirmed.
''Adrienne huh? Haven't seen her in so long. You tell her I said 'Hi' lover boy.'' I chuckled. Dimitri gave me mock 'angry' look before he said his final goodbye and left.
I cleared desk and went outside to wait for Giovanni. In less than 5 minutes he was there in a car I haven't seen him in before. It was a white Ferrari! I could see people, especially gawking at him and I didn't like the attention he was getting.
Wait a minute. Was I getting jealous? No of course I wasn't. I shook my head and walked over to the car. To my surprise, the car door slid up into the air and I stooped down and faced a smiling Giovanni.
''Hop in.'' he said, still smiling. He was wearing a grey suit with a black button up shirt inside. His hair was all ruffled up but he looked effortlessly flawless.
I slowly got in the car and the doors slid down. ''Wow, you have really nice cars.'' I said, looking arouund at the interior. Everything inside was black leather.
''Thank you, my cars are my buys.''
Cars. ''How many cars do you own?'' I asked.
He thought about it for a minute before answering, ''Quite a few actually. I have six cars but I own a car lot but I guess those don't count.''
Six cars? I was stunned. ''That's a lot of cars. Why do you need so many?''
''I dunno, I just like them.''
''So where are we going?'' I asked.
''You'll see, it's a surpise.'' he chuckled.
I hated surprises but I didn't say anything else, until he turned on a familiar street.
''The diner where we met?'' I expected some other restaurant but he actually surprised me.
''Yes, of course. Where else would I want to take you? Come on.'' We both got out the car.
We went inside and sat in a corner of the diner. A waitress took our orders and left us alone.
