"How many time do I have to apologize?" Rodrick whispered to Kat as they sat on the boat, not making eye contact.
"You haven't even apologized once, all you've said was 'my bad'" Kat said rolling her eyes.
"I just panicked." He said under his breath.
"So you grab my leg?" Kat said with a sarcastic laugh.
"I don't know, we were in midair, I had no idea what was going on." He tried to justify but Kat wasn't having it. She didn't think it was completely on purpose but she wasn't going to let it go unnoticed.
"Whatever Rodrick, don't touch me like that again." She said back, completely pissed off.
"Wasn't planning on it." He said, which he knew was a huge lie.
The rest of the day was as smooth as the river's waves. Of course, now that Rodrick and Kat weren't on the tube, the lake was completely still. It was so sunny outside that Kat felt her skin slowly turning red. She can get really tan, thanks to her Greek heritage, but she always burns first. They had been out on the lake for at least 3 hours and everyone was getting tired. The group decided that it was time to go in for the day.
"Time to start grilling." The two dads said jumping out of the boat. The moms walked up together, probably to get the food out. Rowley and Greg stayed by the shore line trying to find frogs. And as for Kat and Rodrick, the two immediately separated; Kat going to lay on the hammock and Rodrick to go lay on a lawn chair near the dock.
Kat was shaded lightly by the tree leaves so it was a perfect time to nap before dinner. Plus she wanted to get out of preparing dinner.
"Hey kitty, move over." Rodrick said holding onto the roped side.
"Find another spot." She said sternly, not in the mood to deal with him.
"I will not hesitate to flip this right now." He said starting to shake the hammock. Kat sat straight up and this action messed with the balance of the whole thing and it quickly flipped her to the ground. She raised her head and then used her arms to push her up.
"Fuck." She mumbled dusting off the dirt.
"Are you okay?" Rodrick asked kneeling down next to her.
"Yeah, I'm fantastic, thanks for asking." Kat said in the most sarcastic voice possible.
"I swear that I didn't move the thing." Rodrick said.
"Yeah I know, it's okay dude." Kat said pushing herself up. She got back into the hammock and Rodrick then joined her.
"This thing is so comfortable." He said putting his arms up over his head. Kat looked over at him as he closed his eyes to shield the small bits of sun that escaped through the tree leaves.
"Yeah it is." She said trying to fight the urge to cuddle right up against him, but his arm was already tucking itself under her to pull her close.
"I brought a whole DVD case full of old horror movies for us to watch tonight," Rodrick said, "I saw a DVD player upstairs."
"Aw sweet, good idea Rodrick!" Kat said excitedly pulling at his arm.
"I know, I have them every once in a while." He said trying to sound cocky but Kat just rolled her eyes and shook her head.
"Shut up Rodrick."

"I can't believe they were really fighting over who made the best burger." Kat said coming out of the bathroom drying her hair while Rodrick finally got upstairs. Kat excused herself from dinner earlier so she could shower before Rodrick. The two dads were having a small cook off which was and hour and a half of entertainment for everyone.
"Don't tell my dad but your dad made a fucking awesome burger." Rodrick said with a laugh, jumping on his bed, again.
"Rodrick stop!" Greg and Rowley both yelled from downstairs.
"What kill joys." Rodrick mumbled.
"Okay, go shower so we can start watching the movies, hurry." Kat said trying to rush him along.
"Okay." Rodrick said with a smirk, dipping quickly into the bathroom.
And he didn't even take that long, almost like he showered for 2 minutes. Kat tried to make her self look a little decent with two French braids and her extra long, vintage Star Wars shirt. She got the DVD player up and running just in time and Rodrick reentered the room, of course shirtless.
"Hope you don't mind if we start with It." She said standing in the middle of the room awkwardly.
"Good idea." He said climbing onto his bed. Kat looked over at him but immediately he took her by the hand and pulled her close.
"This is an even better idea." She whispered into his ear as they snuggled up next to each other.
They pressed tightly against each other, even though they were only 15 minutes into the film. Rodrick looked down at her every once in a while to try and catch her with scared expression but he never did. She looked beautiful to him, just laying there so intrigued with the film. There was a jump scare, towards the end of the film, which caused Rodrick to flinch slightly. Because of his reaction Kat looked at him while hysterically laughing. He tried getting her to stop by saying it wasn't that funny but her weird laugh and wide smile made him crack and small smirk instead. He couldn't stay mad at her, it was too hard.
"What should we watch next?" Kat asked getting ready to get out of the bed.
Rodrick didn't say anything, he just grabbed for her hand again and pulled her back onto the bed so that they were face to face.
