The sky was almost. . . Perfect. Inspite the coldness, so far, everything was fine. Until she heard someone knocked on the door.
Alliae isn't beside her, she must be preparing. Today is the day where a warlock shall perform a ritual for Ethan and Charlie. She is not prepared, but she should be.
If she got the Mark, same as theirs, would she be completely stuck in this world? This world living in a book, full of fantasies and mysteries.
"It's me.", he said. A familiar voice echoed in her head.
She let him in. Suddenly, the atmosphere changed. She gasped.
"We have to get out of here.", he said, he's now wearing a gear she couldn't imagine he would wear.
"Ethan, I know. I know that the real world out there is more important, but I have to tell you something.", he stopped his breath-catching, when he heard her.
"The medallion. . . It was cut in half. I only have the other half."
"Oh, Charlie. They said that there's a key to enter this world, right? It's the medallion. We cannot go out here without the other half. ", he closed his eyes, he looks like stressed.
"Then we should --"
"Charlie! You should be preparing, everyone else have already prepared.", they stopped as they heard Alliae from the hallway.
"Let's talk about it tonight. No one else but the two of us should know about this."
She prepared. Alliae handed her clothes that's not her type.
She looked at herself at the mirror. She's wearing a black shirt inside, combined with a white leather jacket for the cold. She's wearing black leather pants.
She stepped outside, looking at the C Group with Ethan. Someone caught her eyes, he's wearing the same leather jacket, unzipped. He glared at her, she altered her eyes to what they're holding.
Everyone is holding their own weapons, except Blue.
"Where's yours?", asked Alliae who was holding a crossbow. Ethan's holding a trench knife and Nathan's holding a long sword.
She remembered the dagger Ethan said she summoned.
She showed it, she didn't think twice if she would tell them where it came from; she won't.
"We better get going."
"Wait what about him?", she pointed at Blue, who's staring at the wall as if daydreaming.
"Talents", Alliae smiled. Blue gestured them to go outside.
It was freezing cold outside. But when she walks fast, she feels warm, she wondered why.
"He's the best.", Alliae smiled. She's walking beside her, while the boys are on the front line.
"Who?"
"Blake.", she pouted her mouth towards Blue who was leading the way.
She couldn't help but nod.
She wondered why.
They walked on the bundles of snow, marking the floor with their footprints.
Ethan walked beside her. His eyes were full of questions. Maybe because he doesn't want to be Marked.
"You alright?", Charlie asked. He looked at her, giving her the what-do-you-think look.
"Okay,", started Alliae
"We need to cross the woods, go underwater, to be able to go to the warlock. It's said that he's the best in town. We shall see."
Charlie was shocked, knowing they were in the highest place in the country a while ago. That explains why the temperature's freezing. She could see almost the three-fourths of Ville.
"This isn't the only thing we're going to do this day. Take note of that", muttered Blue.
Charlie noticed that his hands are sparkling. Woah! That's why they feel warm, it's him doing the thing. He's waving his fingers up and down.
They entered the woods. Chills ran through Charlie's spine. There were glowing and moving flowers that's scattered in the forest. The dark aura of the forest was lightened up a bit.
They gave them weapons. Ethan was given a trench knife while Charlie insisted on using the dagger Alliae saw while Charlie was preparing her clothes. She didn't think of hiding them forever, anyway.
Nathan is holding a sword, while Alliae has a crossbow hanged on her right shoulder.
"Today we are also going to capture the three faeries that escaped from prison. We might see them here because I can sense them.", Nathan said as he cautiously searched the surroundings while the others move behind Blake following a path towards the center of the forest.
"That's his talent.", Alliae smiled as she looked at Charlie.
Charlie figured out that Nathan's talent was to sense creatures.
"Not everyone has talents. I don't have one. But I'm good with weapons.", Alliae said optimistically. Charlie wasn't really listening but she were startled when she heard a screeching sound.
"Look what we have here."
Three faeries appeared in front of them. They have sharp, pointed ears, dark round eyes and green pale skin.
Blake stopped waving his fingers and was turned into clenched fists. Charlie suddenly felt the cold.
"Sky warriors. Rena, we have no other choice but to face them. I have hidden my whole life and have escaped prison many times. I'm no longer going to run this time." She turned to the other faerie who almost exactly looked like her.
The faerie who talked started shooting up Ethan spikes coming from her mouth. Alliae threw a dagger that passed through the sides of Ethan's shirt to the tree, which made him startled. The spikes started falling down as if a barrier has shielded him from it.
He was protected by the dagger.
"Duck!", Blake shouted at me as the spikes went at me.
Blake advanced quickly at the faerie as thunder came from his hand. Charlie never knew there could be a man as fast as him. He almost did it at the blink of an eye.
There was a rotten smell of fried insects that came out from the smokes of the burnt faerie.
Rena and the third faerie ran towards us as bows darted towards them.
