chapter 3

*four days and its the day of the appointment*

Jake was still in the hospital for his legs. i woke up Jake being gone. i was worried out of my mind. i ran out of the room as fast as i could screaming Jake's name. one of the nurses came up to me and said " ma'ma calm down hes down with the doctor taking a little practice walk with the crutches." " the doctor said he didn't want to wake you from your sleep." "thanks nurse." i said with a sigh of relief. 

*a few minutes later*

Jake and the doctor came back. Jake walked in with the biggest smile. a smile that nobody has ever seen before. "mommy, mommy. the doctor told me some good news." " we get to see the baby today mommy."he said screaming with excitement. " Jake, mom follow me please." i quickly put on my slippers and followed the doctor to an ultrasound room.  i looked down at Jake and told him that its time to find out the baby. "mommy is it time to find out if i have a baby sister or brother yet" he said with a big smile on his face. "  yes sweetheart it is" i answered back. we walked into the room it got a little cold once we walked it but it wasn't a big problem. i was told by the doctor to lay on the bed and lift my shirt up. " ok mom this is going to be cold" said the doctor while he was putting some clear gel on my stomach. 

Up on the monitor you were able to see the baby. i look down at Jake to see him trying to figure out what the doctor was doing. a few seconds of him thinking he figured it out. " mommy does that machine let you see the baby in your tummy." he said looking a bit confused. " yes baby it is" i started as i saw a big smile grow on his face. " mom Jake i would like to inform you that you are having a baby girl." said the doctor. i looked over at Jake as he smile even harder. the doctor gave me a napkin so that i could wipe away the left over gel on my stomach. we walked out of the room and noticed Jake holding his stomach. " Jake honey whats wrong." i looked at him with worry written all over my face. " mommy i'm hungry" he said as his stomach growled. " oh baby i'm sorry i forgot you haven't got a chance to eat yet. i was to busy with the baby in my stomach. i'm so sorry baby. come here ill carry you and we can go  down to the lunch room and you can get whatever you want ok." i said as i lifted him to go down the stairs and down the hall. as we got down to the lunch room to get some food i looked over and saw that Johnnie was sitting at the table at the end of the room. i looked down at Jake with a worried look on my face. " mommy whats wrong. what happened." i looked down at him to answer his question. but as soon as i started to yes we need to leave now, Johnnie got up and saw us. i dropped all the food that were in my hands and i grabbed Jake and ran as fast i could. up the stairs and into the room to get my jacket and Jake's teddy bear and blanket. Johnnie followed us up to the room and tried to grab me, but i ran out the room door. i grabbed everything and headed towards the doors to get to my car. i put Jake in the car and pulled off as fast as i could. 

i hid in the parking lot so that i was able to put Jake in his seat belt and some time to put mine on. Jake started to cry and ask what would happen and that he was hungry. i looked back and said "i know baby everything is going to be fine ok don't worry. when we leave here we can stop at chick-fil-a ok." he looked at me with a small smile on his face and said " ok mommy". a few minutes past and we were finally out of the hospital and  in the line at chick-fil-a. " hi welcome to chick-fil-a may i take your order" said the man over the speaker. "  yes can i get a 6 count chicken meal with a small fry and a small chocolate milkshake. and a large fry with a medium chocolate milkshake." i said quickly. " will that be all for you ma'am" he said happily. "yes thank you." i said with a paranoid tone. i pulled up to the next window and paid then pulled up to the next window and waited for the food. we got our food and drove away.  we headed to the house and we pulled up to the drive way and saw Johnnie waiting there for us to get home.
