The Belikov Sister's aren't like in the novel, they are respected guardians working in Saint Basil's.

Rose Point of view

Preparations for returning home started taking place quickly, as we weren't needed much here anyway. Lissa had to return to court to make a full investigation into what had happened. Our people back home were informed of what had happened, to a certain extent. I didn't want Dimitri to know about the episode. If Dimitri knew what happened that night, he would come straight here and bring me home himself. I know that it was hard on him already having to see me deal with the side effects of being a shadow-kissed and not being able to help.

I remember the first time the headaches started to get stronger.  We were both out on a date, away from court and its wards. We usually had our date nights throughout the month, always in, court due to our high-manding job. But that certain date night, Lissa had made our reservation to a restaurant that she heard of. She made sure that we dressed up and looked our best, as she claimed it was a fancy restaurant. When we left the court and the wards a headache started up. It was something that I could have easily ignored as I've had worse every time I went on a plane. The more we got away from the court the pain started to get worse. I tried pulling my walls up what protected me from those who have died and are visible to me.

"Roza, what's wrong?" Dimitri asked as he kept his eyes on the road but from the corner of his eyes knew that something was terribly wrong.

Dimitri did know me well enough, he was playing his old-style music and I didn't complain about it. I tried to suppress the pain and actually enjoy our night out without the kids, a night where we could be just my husband and me.

"My head" I  whispered as I tried to keep my head down.

" Look at me," he said, he knew that if he saw my eyes he would know.

I lifted my head up looking at him but not really as my shadow-kissed yellow golden were the ones looking at him. He quickly parked the car in a corner and turned his full body towards me.

" Are you having headaches, do you want to go back?" Dimitri asked knowing that if I said yes we would turn back quickly.

Ever since that day I've had to wear an extra-infused spirit charm that helps with the pain.

After Lissa made a few calls and informed the rest of the council of what had gone down, they urgently suggested that we came back to America. They would be sending a private jet to the nearest academy which was Saint Basil's. They had suggested leaving during Moroi time but I had insisted that it be human time. I personally didn't want any more confrontation while being here. The jet would be landing here within one day time, which it's fine by us. In the meantime, we would just have to be extremely careful especially having Lissa 'the Queen" with us.

Having to be here stuck in Russia gave me the opportunity to spend some time with my Russian family which I didn't get to see much. We did get to see the nieces and nephews when they would come to America for the summer, but not so much of Karolina and Sonja. Karolina and Sonja both being guardians and teaching at Saint Basil's gave them little time to travel.

" Karolina and Sonja would really love it if you went to visit them," Olena said bringing me back to reality.

"That's up to Lissa If she wants to pay the school a visit" I replied knowing how fun it was when Lissa would randomly show up to schools.

" They are on their field experience, so visiting will be quite the experience," Olena said as she knew field experiences were my favorite.

From time to time Lissa would send people from the guard to schools during the field experience. She wanted the upcoming graduates to have a different taste when it came to combat and to make them see that its no joke that once you're out there it's your life or theirs. I remember that one time I was sent to a school and I was informed about two Dhampirs who gave the guardians a headache. They weren't trained the way we were, so their technique was sloppy but they liked a challenge, so did I. I took my shot when they were with a group of friends. I wanted to see how they would protect their assignments but mostly on their fighting skills. As a group, they did well, but when it came to their fighting skills they most certainly need improvement. I took down the majority of the group alone which gained an audience. Many wanting to know who was hidden behind taking a group down alone. After I had successfully taken them down by capturing their assignments, I revealed myself.
