Littlepaw jolted to her paws and twisted around; her friend was behind her, shaking her head.

"Fleetpaw, I told you not to wake me up like that!"

"Sorry," Fleetpaw said, but it's always so much fun. Plus I'm still excited from my day with Panzer!"

"You're actually excited from spending the day with a medicine cat?" Littlepaw asked. "It sounded boring when you told me about it yesterday."

"Yeah but I got to learn a lot about her." Fleetpaw bounced in front of Littlepaw and fell flat on her belly. "Want to hear about it?"

"Well," Littlepaw said, "No one else in the clan seems to tell me much about her."

Fleetpaw moved to a regular sitting posture. "Okay, you know why she decided to keep her twoleg name?"

Littlepaw shook her head.

"She said she didn't even have a name until she first came here! So after finally getting one, she said she's keeping it no matter where she goes. Since our clan was founded by kittypets, Longstar felt it should be up to her whether or not to change it... over one hundred moons without a name. Can you believe that?"

"That sounds impossible," Littlepaw responded. "She was one of the founding members of StoneClan. She would have to be way older than one hundred moons, and that doesn't sound right."

"I thought so too, but then she told me about her owner, a medicine twoleg. She went to the cutter a lot when she was young, even when she wasn't sick or hurt. So the blue-tint never leaves her fur even at her age. It also explains why she never seems to get sick... maybe. Also why she's so full of energy all the time!"

"Yeah, negative energy," Littlepaw mumbled.

"Her twoleg is dead now," Fleetpaw continued, "but Panzer was born in a faraway land covered by mountains and snow. They traveled... everywhere. She's been everywhere! She's seen trees with pink leaves, twolegs of different colors, and has told me about animals I would have never dreamed of!

"And after all that, her twoleg never gave her a name. But once she finally came here she said she was named after one of the war-monsters they keep talking about."

"Did she ever talk about why she's so-" Littlepaw quickly darted her head around. "Bitter, all the time?" she whispered.

"She's not bitter," Fleetpaw whispered. "It's about something that happened when StoneClan was created and fought with LeafClan. She didn't agree with how Bonbon ordered the clan to fight dishonorably. Both were still pets and neither knew much about how a clan is supposed to work, but she still didn't like it. I kind of agree with her. Dropping stones from the twoleg nests above on whoever is below... it doesn't seem right to fight anyone like that, not even a wildcat."

"Bonbon also used twoleg objects to fight LeafClan," Littlepaw said, stretching her legs. "But Panzer uses twoleg medicine over herbs, so can she really be mad if Bonbon uses twoleg methods to fight instead of cats'?"

Fleetpaw shook out her fur. "But that makes sense. The useful herbs twolegs grow outside of their nests are controlled by LeafClan. And the only wild herbs are the ones outside of this place. That's over a day's journey! Stealing twoleg medicine from their careless warriors seems easier than that."

"I never felt safe when she had that stuff near me," Littlepaw said, shaking. "It makes little cuts hurt way more than they should. Does that stuff even work on cats?"

Fleetpaw reached up to playfully swat at nothing. "She said her twoleg used it on her whenever they weren't near a cutter on their travels. It seems to work fine, though. It does hurt, but she just tells us to toughen up, shouts an insult at us, and she keeps going.

"I trust her with it. She says twolegs can cut each other open, heal an injury on the inside, and close each other up, all while using medicine like this! If it lets twolegs do stuff like that then it should be a miracle for cats."

"Her twoleg sounds scary," Littlepaw said. "Not as scary as those twoleg insults she shouts at us. I think she knows more of those than cat insults."

"I know," Fleetpaw said. "And that was all I needed. I've decided to become a medicine cat after all!"

"Insults helped you decide?" Littlepaw asked. "Never mind. It's you. I shouldn't be surprised."
