-A Few Days Later-
"Make sure you bring your composition notebook tomorrow. We'll be doing a lot of writing," I told the class, as they packed up their supplies. The bell rang, causing the class to pile out of the room quickly. "See you all tomorrow!" I added, as packed my things, but knew I couldn't leave until I graded some papers.
An hour after grading papers, I left the classroom and headed for my car. It was a bit strange that I hadn't received a call from Niall by now. He would usually call me and to see if I was on my way home. I blew it off though, keeping the fact that he could be busy in mind.
Halfway down the road from the flat, my phone starts going off. I picked it up, looking at the caller ID, only to see it say 'London General'.
Oh crap.
I answer my phone and place it to my ear shakily. The last time I answered a call from the hospital, Niall got into an accident. So this call was a bit nerve wrecking.
"Hello?" I asked, taking a deep breath.
"Is this Eleanor Calder?" The woman asked.
"Yes this is she." I replied, as I pulled into the parking lot of a random store. Niall wouldn't be to happy if I was talking on the phone while driving. I turned the car off, as I waited for the woman to reply.
"I just want to inform you that a young man named Niall Horan was rushed to the emergency room. I have an officer here to explain what happened." She said, as I took a sharp breath and heard muffled talking.
"Eleanor? It's Tim." Tim said, as I rested my head against the steering wheel. My head was pounding.
"Hey. What happened?"
"We got called out on a armed robbery. Everything was going smoothly, until a shot was fired in the store. That's when Niall, myself, and a few other officers barged into the building. Well, needless to say, Niall didn't feel it was necessary to inform him that his knee was screwed up."
"Oh my god, is he okay?" I said, scared out of my mind.
"He's gonna have to get surgery. It's pretty bad. He's drugged up right now, but he refuses to go to surgery until he sees you." Tim told me, as I turned the car on and zoomed out of the parking lot towards the hospital.
"I'm on my way." I said, as I hung up and threw my phone into the passenger seat.

"Mr.Horan, we need to get you into surgery." The doctor said, causing me to shake my head.
"I need to see my fiancée first. Then I'll go. Until then, I'm not going." I replied, stubbornly. The doctor groaned, before leaving the room. Although I was drugged, I could still feel the pain that my knee was giving. Officer Tim told me he called El, but decided to leave out the part about me getting shot for not only her sake, but mine, too.
When I say shot, I mean I got shot in the vest. I have a few bruised ribs, but nothing too major. It could've been worse. Thank god for vests.
"Ni?" I heard, as I watched El peak around the corner. I smiled, before trying to sit up, only to fail miserably. Not only did my knee hurt like hell, but my chest did, too. I'm falling apart - that's the only explanation.
"Hello, love." I said, as she walked in and sat at the end of the hospital bed.
"Are you okay?" She asked, as she pushed some hair behind her ears.
"Knee hurts a wee bit. Nothing major." I replied, giving her a small smile.
"Niall, you need to stop getting hurt so much. I worry too much." She said, taking my hand and entwining our fingers.
"It's kinda hard when your a police officer, babe." I chuckled, trying to lighten the mood. She shook her and giggled, before the doctor walked in and said that he needed to get me into surgery. I sighed, before I got prepped.
"I love you." El said, kissing my cheek.
"I love you, too." I replied, before I was wheeled away.
