"Officer Horan speaking." I say, pressing the phone to my ear. I was sentenced to strike office work all day since I've been doing too much on the scene work.

"This is bad, Niall. Really bad." Liam said on the other side, before he started rambling faster than the speed of light.

"Liam!" I yelled, causing everything around me to go silent. I smiled apologetically, before pushing the record button on the office phone. "I need you to tell me what's going on. Slowly."

There was silence, before Liam took a deep breath. "I got home from work and there was a box waiting for me outside."

"Okay? What does a box have to do with why you called?"

"It was from f***ing Green, Niall!" He said quietly, keeping in mind that his kids were around. I felt my stomach start to churn, the idea that Green knew where Liam and Riley were not settling well.

"What was in the box, Liam?" I asked, trying to keep the conversation going.

"There was a glass bottle with a clear liquid inside it and a note that threaten to kill my family if I didn't pour it into Alice's drink," He began, trying to keep his cool. "I don't know how he found out where we lived, Niall. I don't know what to do. Riley isn't talking to me." He added, his voice starting to crack.

"What do you mean?"

"She's in shock, Niall. She isn't talking to me, she isn't responding to anything. I'm scared, Niall." He sobbed. I could hear Dakota and Robyn in the background trying to figure out why their dad was crying.

"Alright, I need you to listen," I began, before I slipped my badge into my pocket. "Lock all the doors until I get there with an investigator. We're gonna figure this all out okay?"

"Okay." Liam muttered, before hanging up the phone. I then jumped up from my chair and ran towards the nearest - and best - investigator - which was Calum Hood - and hoping that we got to Liam's in time.

Once I hung up, I looked down at Robyn and Dakota, as they looked up at me with sad eyes.

"Daddy sad?" Robyn said, his little ears hidden in his hair. Dakota asked the same thing, before I wiped my face to see that I was in fact crying. I smiled at the twins, before bending down to their level and pulling them into my arms.

"Daddy's fine. See? I'm smiling." I told them, as I smiled widely. They both giggled, before I kissed their cheeks and they ran away towards their rooms. I stood up from my crouching position and walked towards Riley, dropping to my knees and grabbing her hands.

"Ri? Please talk to me." I whispered, as she just sat there. I brought her left hand up to my lips and kissed it, before resting my head against her thigh. A few minutes went by, before I felt her comb her fingers through my hair and take an uneven breath.

"I'm sorry." She whispered, causing me to look up at her. "I'm just scared."

"I know, baby." I replied, getting up from the floor and sitting beside her on the couch, wrapping my arm around her waist, as she rested her head on my shoulder. "But we're gonna get through this. I won't let anything happen to Alice, and I sure as hell won't let nothing happen to you, or the twins. You three are my life, and I would give up my life just to protect you all."

"I thought we were done with him." She said, her body starting to tremble at the thought of Green. "I thought he was gone."

"I did, too, baby." I replied, looking over at her, seeing her eyes closed tight. Just like she was remembering something. I watched her emotionless face for awhile, before they shot open and she was shaking out of control. She rocked back and forth, scratching her arm, her nails leaving a mark up her arm. "Riley, are you-"
